On reflection, you just can't legislate for that complete inept display by probably all but 3 or 4 of the team. What Radford said afterwards was at least refreshing, he identified what the problem is and it's worrying that he said they'd built a full pre season around this problem and it's already happened! However, you're not going to eradicate something so ingrained in the club so quickly. So basically my stance is - once I can forgive, but if this happens again on any kind of consistent basis, the he should be replaced. I'm sure he knows that, he pointed it out yesterday.
Players let him down for me.'"

| Quote: Staffs FC "Valid argument but all I would say is that Radford's approach is at least different (the opposite mostly) of what has gone before him. Since what has gone before him has failed miserably (protecting players in the media and constantly picking untouchable/underperforming players week in and week out and indeed renewing their contracts) having a totally different approach can at worst only achieve what has gone before. At best it might finally give the first team playing squad the collective kick up the rear it has seemingly required for years now.'"

Agree with both of these.

| You have to give radford some credit, before the match he told you what an attacking force you are,and after he told you why your not.

| Not read all the comments on here yet but whilst yesterday was a disgrace I think it's far too early to have a "Radford Out" thread. Just a few weeks ago most of us were praising him. Yes, he's inexperienced and he's made a few errors in my opinion but we're only six games in.
Yesterday, as I say, was a disgrace. But it's not like we aren't used to it. The players let Radders down just like they have let down our previous coaches. There is a major attitude problem at the club and that's down to the players. Another coach no matter how experienced they are will have the same problem.
We need to root out the culprits and get rid of them. Not change the coach.

Don't worry. Glancing back at the thread it appears only 4 posters actually want rid.

| Pearsons decision making is questionable to say the least.
we concede 70 odd points & 2 weeks later promote the defence coach!
our crap signings over the last couple of years,(we were told) are down to filling gaps
caused by a lack of quality coming through the u/19s - Pearson promotes the coach!
R. Horne to be u/16s coach.
only leaves `Yeamo' to become part of the `old boys club' - skills coach?

| I thought we did root out the culprits some time ago.
Shaun McRae said there was a cancer at the club by the sounds of things it is still here.
As i said last year if the players dont want to play for this club then go some where else.

Mcrae and now are two very different situations. I believe the team now are very much onboard with everything Lee and Lasty are trying too achieve. Unfortunatley some are just not up to required standard to perform week in week out and we don't have the player pool to weed out players left and right.
I think Radders will improve us as I've seen glimpses already but we'll always come up with a Widnes performance now and again and will always struggle to put in a full 80.

Both of these will p!ss the team off eventually. You can't mention players personally playing badly without affecting confidence and trust and changing players all the time gets no consistency.
Yesterday was one of the worst performances i've seen, regardless of the weather.'"
Constant changes to the team have had to be done through injury & form, also to find the best combinations with the players we've got, which props compliment eachother etc..also why shouldn't radders tell the truth on his players under performing? It's what we all post about on the forums...& let's face it the players will either sulk & sit in the stands or address the problems & starts to perform as they should.

so, when we win it's because Radders is great, when we lose it's down to the players?
he is in over his head

I don't know who they are and I'm not going to specifically point the finger at individuals. All I know is we've gone through coach after coach and the problem remains. For me, that means it must be the players.

It's down to both..without been disrespectful to widnes we had a decent enough team out to beat them by a 20 point margin..a coach can only hand the shirts out he can't play in them.

as a manager I take responsibility for the failings of any of my team, Radford should do the same
