| Glad to hear he is okay after it, can't have been a very nice experience at HT for the rest of the players.
Anyways, never nice to hear anyone in our sport is in a bad way.

| Hope he makes a quick recovery.
Have a relative who suffers and keeps it in check with meds.
How does a fit compare with concussion looking at the next game? Having to pass the head check with the docs, is there a comparison or are they totally different?

I would imagine they are different things, went to school with a couple of kids that had epilepsy and they would go years between seizures, as Agar has said, it's just the fatigue factor, I remember how hard it was to look after a friend at the age of 14 who was having a fit, can't imagine being able to keep someone the size of Yeaman safe!!!

Interesting question that Blakey. Never heard of a test for it but then you don't hear of it that often whereas concussion is pretty much a weekly occurrence in SL. I guess the Hull medical staff will keep a close eye on him and go from there. I wonder if he is allowed to continue driving as well?

Going on my relative you have to be clear a year before you can drive again.
Im going on the fact that a fit is a fit and there are not differing types.

| If there is even a tiny chance of any sort of recurrence or long lasting damage to Yeamo then I wouldn't play him this weekend. At the end of the day it's only 1 game and I'd rather have him healthy for the rest of the season than take any chances Friday.

| Doc asked Agar the question in the after match interview and he said it isn't like concussion and Kirk should be ok for Friday. He said he was a little tired but after a couple of days he should be fine.

A seizure is totally different to being knocked-out. recovery is different and as I mentioned before, there are many different types of epilepsy. Everyone deals with it differently and there are various ways of using medication. I have just got my licence back after a year ans yeaman will be the same should it be proven he has had a fit. My 'fit' was the first since 1990 something and who knows what brought that on sometimes stress ad/or tiredness can be the culprit.

Generally people who have been seizure free for several years will be gradually withdrawn from their medication so the fact that Kirk was 10 years past his last seizure I'd be very suprised if he was on medication anymore.
However due to this seizure he will certainly be taking some form of medication again dependant upon the type of seizure he's had.
In essence it will probably be a 6 month withdrawal of his licence pending a Dr's report for the DVLA stating whether or not he feels he is fit to drive again, this will depend on Kirk continuing to take his medication and that he suffers no more seizures during that time.
IF Kirk was and wants to continue to be medication free, he would need to be seizure free for 12 months before he could reapply for his drivers licence.
The only things I hope are:
a). Kirk makes a full recovery and any meds he takes continues to keep the condition under control - he'll be anxious to know why all of a sudden they've started again.
b). Because of all the headlines his seizure has made, that he doesn't feel in any way embarrassed by it all. If anything he should be proud on achieving so much with a condition which could be so debilitating.
A big round of There's only one Kirk Yeaman at the next home game followed by YEAMOOOOO!!!!
