good signing,seems more of a 9 than an organising 7.think theres a question mark on who will be our scrum half next season.morgan smith has played mostly either 9 or 6 and jake trueman played predomintly at 6 for cas.

Another good signing for me potentially better than Clifford at time of signing, who Smith can make something of in back and white, he impressed in the World Cup too but I'd have liked more than a year deal as we could well get excited about him before he's off again. A familiar story really.

I agree that just a year is disappointing, but it does give us time to find his replacement (unless there's an option in his deal for an extension).

Happy with this signing however as previously started a bit worrying it’s only a year without any mention of a further year in either’s favour. Hopefully more to do with his injuries and a chance for him to earn a longer deal.

I mentioned in a previous post that NRL seem happy for injury prone players to come to Super League to prove their fitness, Clifford is a case in point. Hoy hasn’t done it yet, hamstrings?
Maybe the fact he’s signed for a year, means Clifford’s coming back. Stranger things have happened.

I’m hoping it’s up to Brown to earn himself a longer contract and prove he wants to be here. Clifford returning would depend on how well he goes back in the NRL and if he does come back there would be a bidding war for him, I wouldn’t just assume he would come back here.

Not sure what his ambitions are but it must be time he was looking to settle at one club and stay 3 or 4 seasons at least.

This is a big chance for him to do that and add his name to our long list of kiwi greats!

Hopefully he hits the ground running and we are soon talking to him about extending his contract.

Would prefer that than constantly waiting to see how Clifford is going at the Cowboys!
