Sharp told the players it was a clean slate with him after what had gone on with Kear...said there is the door for training and there is the one for pub and mucking about...Brough,jokingly,choose the pub one and sealed his fate and, tbh, wasn't missed at all.Sharp had us playing good rugby and defence and was harshly sacked with us in the middle of a horrendous injury crisis.

| I would rather see us play exciting rugby & lose a few games trying, then play the way we have been the last few years because it became poor to watch. #FCthenewentertainers.

| Maybe it's just me but Iwell remember Sharp's team playing some really dour stuff. It was Agar, bless him, that got FC playing well after John Kear left. John Kear actually stated that his team would go on a long unbeaten run, just after the chop. I went to Catalan's, away, which I think was one of Sharp's very early games in charge, at half time, I said to my brother, if this is the coach's tactics, we're likely to be bored to death. Just my opinion, I was never a fan, of his.

| Mentioning the Catala away game previously, reminds me of a tale of Gwillym Loyd. The big cafe bar in the square, Perpignon, has the toilets downstairs. The sinks have just a spout for the tap. I was stood washing my hands and Gollum came up beside me and looked puzzled, no tap knobs. I told him it was a new fangled tap where you place your hands beneath the spout, the water comes out automatically. I left him walking around trying to get a tap working, there was a floor switch, beneath each sink!!!!!!!!! Priceless.

Your opinon but I think you are totally wrong. He was only caretaker coach for five games. We won 14 out of the first 15 games under Sharp. We lost at Wigan and Warrington but 2nd place was already assured.
In 2007 we finished 4th despite losing Cooke, Swain and Domic mid season. We started 2008 poorly but Sharp deserved more time.
His failing appeared to be his hit and miss recruitment although looking back who knows what role Hetherington played in that (she certainly vetoed the contract extension for Mat Head).

| Sharp may have been decent in some ways but his style of filling the team full of utility players was his downfall. I mean Motu over Briscoe at full back was laughable

Briscoe and his agent must bear some of the responsibility for that. Sharp was an excellent coach but poor at handling the media and even poorer at understanding the fans' hopes and expectations.

| sharp might actually have been one of those coaches who would have benefited from having a football manager running the club day to day and letting him get on with the coaching

If i remember right, i heard Hull offered Briscoe a contract but his agent told him to wait an see if he was picked for GB as it would increase his contract.
But Hull used money elsewhere and withdrew contract
