| Yep, as others have said, can't be offside in your own goal are, but it would still be a knock on.
Strange the in goal area, because you can strip 2 on 1 and tackle someone in the air too, iirc.

That is the rule, you cannot be offside in your own in-goal. A knock on or forward pass in-goal should result in a goal-line dropout.
The rule is there to cover a player standing close to the dead-ball line trapping a ball with his foot. A team mate in front of him would be allowed to pick up the ball (in the in-goal area), with being penalised

| Isn't it also true, that if you're in the 'in goal area' you're immune from extradition to the United States?

| I was watching a little of The Lions tour earlier on and as Folau scored the ref went to the screen and asked to see if the previous pass to him was forward? So why do Union officials deem it okay to look for forward passes, but we can't in league?

strange if the bit about tackling in the air is true - if that rule is in for player safety then wherever you are on the field should carry equal risk of serious injury, can you imaging the outcry if a serious injury was caused by such an action

I don't think it is. There's nothing in the rules which explicitly says that the in goal area is different.
One rule I hadn't realised about ball stealing... Quote: the artist "Where a player steals the ball from a player on whom he is effecting a tackle, play will be allowed to continue.
Where two or more players are effecting the same tackle – irrespective of whether all but one “drops off” the tackle,
and the ball is subsequently taken from the tackled player, a penalty will be awarded against the player or players effecting the tackle'"

You can tackle in the air if the ball has bounced too.

Again, I don't think you can, there is no reference to "bounced"...
Quote: east hull FC fan "It is illegal to tackle an opposing player attempting to field a kick whilst the player is in mid-air. The catcher must have returned to the ground before being tackled'"

Somebody posted the rule after we got pinged for it against St. Helens in 2010/11 in the drawn game, when Foster kicked the penalty after the hooter to tie it up.

To be fair, it was probably because he interfered with the markers, pretty blatant moving. I know what you mean though.
