Failed in what sense, to ignite supporters to watch the pro team, I'll give you that, but in every other sense having a London pro team has being successful. Do you know the numbers of participants in RL as a whole in the South/South East region compared to 20-15-10. even 5 years ago???

I've watched the development of RL here in the South/London for quite a few years and now even my (adopted) home town has a RL team in one of the strongest union areas. They are in the lowest leagues possible BUT they get a spread in the local rag. This isn't just ex-pats these are lads who are wanting to play RL from a young age and want something to aim for. Having a pro team in London and the spreading of the game at the higher amateur levels has been a (part) catalyst for that.
So if you feel that RL is a failure in the capital/South, then you're wrong on pretty much every count.

I see your point, but as a team in the highest league in this hemisphere, that attendance was nothing short of an embarrassment.

Since the days of Fulham and even Kent Invicta, I've been going to the capital for FC games. In all the years, we have outnumbered the home fans easily. There was a brief flurry of action down there when Branson took over the Bronco's and led them out at a CC final, but that's it really. I'd sooner give the London Sky money to a NL1 team and see them use it for grass roots.

Really is embarrassing.

It will be more embarrassing if they fold and our next tv deal drops even though viewing figures have risen 45%.

EMBARRASING ATTENDANCE, I REALLY FEEL FOR THE TRUE BRONCO'S FANS AND THE PLAYERS WHO ARE DOWN THERE.....TO SAY THERE UP AGAINST IT IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT...... LETS BE HONEST, THEY COULD SIGN THE ENTIRE AUSTRALIA TEAM AND ATTENDANCES WOULDNT GO INTO 5 FIGURES, SEEMS LIKE THE RFL ARE FLOGGING A DEAD HORSE IM AFRAID.... MAYBE ITS TIME THE BRONCOS WERE PULLED FROM LONDON AND RELOCATED SOMEWHERE MORE RUGBY LEAGUE ORIENTATED SUCH AS CUMBRIA....

I agree. Let's scrap RL in London, give up on the huge growth in grassroots and participation levels and say goodbye to a chunk of Sky TV money. We can then bring in a team from Cumbria, based in some backwater town with a tiny population, in an area where RL is fully saturated at grassroots & amateur level.

so if London fold all the grass roots teams in the area will too??? some of them grass roots teams were there before the london team were first put together mate, the broncos are a joke and have no bearing on the grass roots stuff in and around the capital, they only have 4 community officers FFS how much do you think they do LOL,
