It's been a problem for a few seasons now. It is also a waste of 2 to 3 plays just to get us to were we should be tapping the ball.

Thorman always kicks it with the instep of his boot (basically a miss kick) which means the angle of the kick is always towards touch. Let Whiting kick it FFS, I assume is a question of pride though if you let someone else start kicking for touch.

We have similar thing at Widnes and I just don't get it!
Webster takes most touch kicks, even though Anthony Thackery often amkes about an extra 15-20m every time!
Worst was few years back when Juels O'Neil kicked (usually 1 per game went backwards) and Steven Myler was ignored, Myler is now playing top flight rugby union at 10, I don't need to explain what his long kicking was like therfore!
You'll have Longy next year mind, IMO best in business! He may miss touch 1/2 a year but he makes up for it by making 30/40m a kick, other times!

The coach and/or Captain should take the kicking to touch responsibility off Thorman.
His kicks are pathetic and actually lose the advantage of having a penalty and 6 more tackles.
