I'm sorry but for me it isn't the amount the SMC are seeking to charge but the principle of charging in the first place: that is wrong, simple as.

A "nominal" sum of £500 may seem like a victory but by paying it we are accepting that the principle of charging rent on picture space is valid. Once we pay, then watch this "rent" creep ever upwards. Assem Allam is like a thicker version of Michael O'Leary

It's an excellent outcome but have to agree with others than we still shouldn't have to pay anything, does this set a precedent?

Well done to everyone that got involved, it's comforting to know that the council went into battle for us.

This isn't over, there are still questions to be asked, we can't let Allam get away with saving face, the SMC need looking into, the situation with excessive costs for the Arena need addressing, the pictures issue is an important but relatively thin end of a big wedge IMHO.

Yes Standee and we don't know the terms of it do we we only have the Mail to go on perhaps there are clauses and caviats (would that surprise anyone) we now have to sit and wait what happens when the Club and the SMC discuss it and what exactly the deal covers. It looks good on the face of it but until its agreed we don't know do we?

The £500 would still not give us equality with the soccer team, which is what we are asking for.

It relates to matchdays only, so what about the other days ?
What about our trophies and memorabilia ?
Does this mean that the Johnny Whiteley suite would only have his photos if we are playing ?
Do city have to take down their photos ?

I think for £500 I would want a guranteed equal spilt of display space on a PERMANENT basis. I have no problem seeing city stuff on the wall (except pictures of little fat arabs

), as long as we have equal shares.

If that is right it wil cost em £25,000 of their own money taking em down and putting em up replacing them with City ones etc etc I think they'll soon get tired of that dont think that its practical myself.

I've not read through all 70 pages, but now we have a figure of £500 I think it would be an excellent idea if we, the 18th man, paid the £500. I suspect we would have to gain permission for a bucket collection, but I would love to be the person that hands £500 in cash over to the SMC (bagged in the correct quantities of course

£500 is £500 too much IMO. It reminds me of when I went on a Nile cruise in the 90's - spent the whole week haggling for just about anything and everything. FC and City should have an equal share of memorabilia on display and an equal presence in terms of graphics etc. in all public areas. Any costs to 'maintain' this should already be covered in the tenants' rent. If as the HDM suggests the SMC is 'costing the Allams money' then why don't they look to sell it to a neutral party with the help of the Council ? (I already know the answer to that by the way).

I dont trust em at all Perhaps they expect us to do it who know we have to wait and see what the deal is it may not be over yet!

Anyone know how much it costs to put up a picture when you provide the picture and the fittings to have it on the wall are already in situ?
