| By the end of the season it was felt by the club that Frank wasn't offering value for money, and that the money would be better spent on other players.
So I expect the guy was pretty miffed, and that explains his silence on social media etc.

| In the scheme of things is it really important, who actually cares?
So a guy who leaves our club doesn't use social media to say bye, thank you or offer an explanation as to why and the conspiracy theorists come out in force.
I don't care incase you've not worked it out. It's no crime or insult not to use social media. He owes us nothing and vice versa.

I don't care if he thanks the fans or not (although I would have expected him to fwiw) but the concern is its not good for the image of the club if players are leaving on bad terms, especially players as high profile as Frank. It can only make future recruitment more difficult.

Do you really believe that?
Frank will not be the first, far from it and certainly not the last player that will leave a club under clouded circumstances, if at all it's true.
It will have no bearing on club recruitment.
Money talks and for every disgruntled player there's going to be more happy ones.
It's another nothing thread with a mountain being made out of a molehill.
But that's life under the microscope at Hull were paranoia can run rife with certain people.

Could be argued that the intense scrutiny / criticism of the fans (specifically on this board) is more likely to influence a prospective players decision to uproot and move to Hull.
Frank openly said he could have got a deal in the NRL for 2016, but being a man of his word he wanted to honour this contract. He also said he wanted to leave Hull having won something. For me he achieved on both counts.
That another NRL club was willing to offer him a deal subject to a release could have been part of the deal to come to Hull in the first place. I doubt we will even find out.
Frank was under unrealistic expectations. He did put in shifts, made good yards, galvanised the team and the club. Job done. Move on.

Your second paragraph doesnt make sense.
If he intended to leave then why did the family have to return to vacate their rental property,as i would have thought vacating first would save them time and money having to unnecessarily return from Australia.
Everyone involved here Club/Frank seem to be tight lipped but when you read between the lines with Kelly becoming available it seems to me the club pursued an agreement with Frank to leave if he could find a club back in Australia.
Whether that has left Frank with a sour taste in his mouth about the club we dont know but for me like you said he always put in a shift even when out of position playing as a prop.

| .....why would he vacate his rental property if he hadn't found another club, as, in your words, "the club pursued an agreement with Frank to leave if he could find a club back in Australia."?

They didn't vacate, they went to Australia on holiday. After the Eels deal was announced his wife and son came back to Kirkella and moved their stuff out. That was about 3 weeks ago

I know he didn't vacate, I was saying why would he vacate if he hadn't sorted out another club before hand.
Bonny said why didn't he vacate if he knew he was leaving, and then contradicted himself.
Stupid thread, anyway.

| Hilarious, so after I stated months ago of Michaels or Pritchard I wanted the latter to go because I didn't feel he offered VFM and wasn't anywhere near expectation I got shot down, now it turns out the rumour is that club/players thought exactly that.
He was a part of the CC winning team and will be remembered for that and his off field enthusiasm but for what his salary was going to be based on 2016 he wasn't worth it.
Fortuitous opportunity to get Kelly so things have worked out better than be expected for next season.
As for no social media 'thank you', I really don't know what some fans expect.
Onwards and hopefully upwards

| I do not understand what all the fuss is about Frank. Granted he did wonders for the club off the field both commercially and socially. His personality endeared him to both the fans and the general public
However he was recruited principally to perform on the field of play for which he was paid very well indeed. My first view of him live was the pre-season game against the Dobbins. He was nothing short of sensational and I was one of many who extolled his virtues after the game and looked forward to a bright future. Sadly he flattered to deceive and never got anywhere near the standard of that first game.
Why was he used as a bench player? He rarely did more than forty minutes and after a few initial dashes would tend to disappear from the game and seldom finished it. For such a big man, with his awesome reputation, he did not break tackles too often and seemed to go to ground too easily.
His concentration too seemed questionable. Remember the intercepted pass he threw out at Wembley without seeming to look, from which Warrington eventually scored against the run of play. What is not often mentioned is that a couple of tackles after their try Warrington chose to attack Frank again with a quick play the ball when he had his back to the play and was just strolling back with a seeming lack of concern. We were lucky that some of his teammates were more alive to the danger than Frank and managed to save the day.
If Frank had stayed with us this season, on the same salary, it would have been most unfair on the many players we have who performed much better and far more enthusiastically and skilfully than Frank.
I wish him well in Oz, but I do think that the club has done the correct thing in letting him go.
