Almost like he's fallen out of favour already

Where is that coming from? Has he said anything?

Anyone who goes to Thailand on his own and does Thai Boxing sessions twice a day to improve their fitness seems OK to me

By his own admission Balmforth stated "he found it hard to get out of bed and get stuff done, during the off season". granted he went to do muay thai training in thailand, but ive never heard Smith praise him, whilst praising other young players.
I hope the kid makes the grade, because he has the ability.

When Smith extended Balmforth's contract he said. "Denive still has some developing to do in the early stages of his career. However, what I would say is that he is very committed to his fitness, which is a credit to him, and it is up to him to take this opportunity now and grab it with both hands.”
It's not exactly high praise but it's not negative. Looking at photos the kid has added some timber so it's not like he has been slacking of while getting beaten up every week at Newcastle

Savelio missed Huddersfield's friendly yesterday and Watson made this comment;
"Things have happened in pre-season that have put him (Savelio) behind the ball game, if you like. It's about building him back in at the right time and then getting him back in action when we can"

It sounds a familiar pattern with this kid.
I know folk keep banging on about 2nd row but for me personally I’m happy him and griffin have left.
Senior players sulking around isn’t the ideal role model for the kids coming through.

I think most will admit that there was some disappointment when it was announced Savelio was leaving as on his day he is a quality SR. Unfortunately not only do his injury/fitness level lead him to miss a few too many games but also his attitude has seemingly been questionable at times, the decision to let him move on looks to have been a good one.

| just a shame really, excellent player on his day.
Doesn't ever appear to be a happy bunny - just hope he can get himself into an altogether happier place.
RL isn't just a sport it is a lot of HR, we need to remember these are people not machines.

| Wakey making the play for Olly Russell for 2025. A lot of people here will disagree but depending on our halfback search next year he would be a handy pick up.
Tex, Carlos & Nu brown all probably leaving meaning we have 3 quota spots to play with.
If smith believes in a player like Russell we could actually have a long term half back partnership and sign quota Back row, hooker & 13/centre (depending on Scott’s progression)
I’d love a top quota 7 but it’s a tough market to be in

| I don't mind him but I think we need to be aiming higher than Russell as a first choice 7.

| Have i missed something on Tex, know he's OOC at the end of the year but not seen anything to suggest he won't be resigning?

Needs a big year and with Trueman starting at 6 and Walker potentially at 1, we can't carry an overseas player who doesn't get into out strongest 17.
