The club have worked hard to achieve commercial (financial) success and have done well on this front. rule told me some time ago that they were looking to develop income streams to protect the club from fluctuations in on field performance and they seem to have done this to some extent.

I don't believe for a minute that they don't want a successful side on the pitch (That would, after all, result in financial pay off) however I do believe the lack of in depth knowledge of the game at the top level has led them down some blind alleys, leaving us where we are now. They really need a top quality RL person to sit on the board and operate at a strategic level (Either a top class head coach with experience of what works or a DOR with the same level of knowledge).

What we currently have is rule and co dicatating policy in an area they have little knowledge of, and leaving the day to day implementation of the operational (playing) side of things to an inexperienced manager who hasn't the skills or experience to do it.

If we had someone with experience of the pro game (playing or coaching) at board level then agar would likely not been appointed and, if he had, his deficiencies would have been highlighted very early on and something done about them.

Not saying you are wrong Jake but was role does Kath play in the set up? I could be wrong but what Kath doesn't know about RL you could write on the back of a stamp with thick marker! (I'm not defending Kath by the way)

Does she? I see very little evidence of it to be honest. Who did she play for? Was she a hooker?

Agree 100%, said this months ago about having RL nouse (sp) on the board, also if they are to stick with Agar then they need someone with great experience behind him as DoR, as alluded to earlier on another thread such as Folkes being that such person/role.

The dobbins have phil lowe on their board to look at the playing side of things. Very well respected around the world

Well considering she and hubby Gary have both been involved in RL since their Sheffield days (and earlier than that i think) i do think she has some area of expertise within the game. Like i say i aint defending her but i would suggest she is the one (on the board) with the most experience of RL out the lot of them. I don't profess to know these people or their backgrounds too much so i could be way off the mark.

I'd always perceived that gary was the one with the expertise. She may have been around RL for years but doesn't mean she knows that much about it. I'm married, but wouldn't profess to understand women

Apparently Lee Radfords interview in the Mail tomorrow is one of the most forthright that a local sportsman has made! I wonder what that is all about!
