After the experience of all clubs with getting their overseas players' visas before we signed Lauaki, we should have been all over his application process and documents. I don't care who's primary responsibility it was to fill the forms , we should have overseen it.

I already knew about Lauaki's first application being sent back. The news broke some weeks ago and I thought it had been discussed on here before? Didn't Rule make some vague reference to it during one of his media appearances?

As far as checking the forms is concerned, I understand that all visa applications will now be forwarded to the club to be checked over before submission. Kinda late locking the stable door, but at least we should have some better procedures going forward.

I agree. And apparently that is now the case. Quite why we had to wait for a second application process to go pear-shaped is beyond me TBH.

TBF, what was wrong with luaukis application wouldn't of been a problem with crockers regarding the English test.
Things like this are gunna keep cropping up for all clubs unless the UKBA provide some sort of dossier detailing the full application process.

UKBA had a meeting with theRFL 18 months ago and laid it down straight. The issue is that FC will not take advice (even when offered for free) on how to go through the process, they are that pig headed!

Maybe he punched a window out of frustration when he realised he was coming to a poor team with a shoite coach?
