I for one am pleased.
We made a big fuss and celebrated when both Blacklock and Sing were signed, and at times they showed some great pace. Yet bot of these players were
former top NRL players -with Sing having really top pedegree.
I think we should celebrate the sigining of Calderwood in the same vien. Afterall, if we signed an Aussie winger who had been top try scorer in
any season in the NRL, we would be shouting from the rooftops, even if his recent form hadn't been quite up to much.
With Calderwood, we forget that it was only 3 seasons ago that he topped the scoring charts, and although he didn't find that form at Wigan, he has performed pretty well this season. Yet because we see British players week in week out, we tend to look at recent form only, compared to when we look at Aussie signings when we assess their performance over a career. Lets give the Brits we sign the same applause we give the aussies
