How interesting it was to hear sportstalk tonight because on a day when Gwillam was on holiday David Burns said that he decided to ring a contact in the West Riding and he made an enquiry to wakefiled who said that they had talked to Mike Burnett but had no cap left to sign him, although they ( Wakey) believed that he (Mike) had also spoken to Crusaders.

Monaghan now not a done deal at Cas. Catalans have space now that Carlaw has quit and he's off over there to have a look and a chat with Trent Robinson. Crusaders and 6 other clubs still interested and he reckons he's not making a decision until Chistmas! Amos Roberts has lost the no. 2 shirt at Wigan and Phelps is definitely gone. Maybe there are a few more twists and turns yet?

crusaders could be after players who aren't going to demand a high wage due to their current financial state, burnett won't cost them a great deal, they can then allow us to take sammut off their books and im sure i read somewhere that their is a ex player who nobody wants, maybe they could get him for peanuts, dependng on who is more desperate!

crusaders have already had initial talks with cooke haven't they? though i admit it has gone quiet.

amos roberts is a really good player and the sort of player you do use quota spots on, but as much as i would to see him at hull next year weve got briscoe and sharp as our wingers but you could move briscoe in the centres

I'd be tempted to play Roberts full back if we signed him.

I dont agree famous Amos had a great 10 week spell playing in a side that had found its mojo. He then picked up a nasty injurey and hasn't been the same since. He wasn't pulling up trees previously either so I would stay well clear

yeh sign roberts as fullback, move tansey on bench and interchange with houghton with berro at centre sounds very good to me, seriously tho taking roberts on a 1 year deal would be a good signing, very good player with pace to burn, best player in comp last year before injury and can could cover the wing aswell.

got to disagree really think roberts is a good player that had a very bad injury found it hard to get back into any form what so ever and with richards,goulding and even pryce all doing well on the wings, its michael maguires policy to go with form rather then the name like hes just shown with the squad numbers finch,lima,hoffman or roberts havent made the starting 13 numbers. is roberts better then tansey? and if we did get roberts it would give us strengh in depth in the backs and would allow tansey to provide vital backup in the hooker and halfback role
