| Would be amazed if there wasn't some conditionality on AP not being involved. But £1 for a business with £6m net liabilities, which a couple of years ago pre Allams had net assets? Hmm...

Be interesting to know, how much the LED floodlights, and the pitch, cost to be to Premier League standard????

| Yeh its an interesting one but the new company that the council is setting up is to run a lot of museums, Art Galleries, theatres libraries swimming baths, sports centres and Halls that have a deal of liability too. That is set up as a charitable trust compared with a 'for profit' business which reduces a lot of the outgoings considerably.
At least the Council are looking at it and it's good news for the Airco Sports Clubs and every FC fan should be pleased for that bit at least because boy would it be a better scenario for the long term future of our Club if a community Stadium was back in the hands of the community. Having said all that I can't see it being a deal for £1 without it being fraught with clauses, caviats and issues from the Allams side. It's public money too so it might never happen, but its a start at least!

It's Assam Allam.
Just to be clear, Allam isn't offering to 'give' the SMC to the council. He's offered to sell it to them for a notional price of £1, but if it arrives with a debt of around £6m as rumoured then the [ieffective[/i cost to any purchaser is £6m and not the headline-grabbing £1 being bandied about.

| At last things are moving and I am confident that the apparent losses outstanding by SMC will be investigated ahead of any deal and we should get to the bottom of it. I am convinced the money is related too the running of the stadium in regards to Hull city, new lights, relaying the pitch , new undersoil heating and stadium changes like media rooms etc. They have added FC into the bill as owing a proportion of the costs, the food outlets lose money as they are too expensive, its junk and slow. The whole Allam period has been one of drive down and/or out of every other sports club within the complex and run down the KC in a vane attempt to force a sale.
The guy has a real problem with the word HULL, how long before he wants a name change to East Yorkshire Tigers....

You'd think he'd offer the SMC to ERC, just to annoy HCC

| My concern is not just the debt mentioned above, but the potentially hastily renegotiated lease where Hull City will be paying something like £1 per year to play there. I am certain he will have renegotiated with his son a preferential deal prior to any potential sale.
It is wrong that the City becomes burdened with this significant debt and no income from those who caused it to pay for it.
I think the SMC is the barrier to him selling the football club because of the debt

Up to the Council to get it right.

| Let's hope that the council's "full access to the SMC accounts" highlights what's really going.
When City's catering subsidy was waived, all it did was allow Mr Allam to highlight how much more we were costing the SMC.
I wouldn't be surprised if the stewarding costs were being used in the same way.
City pay for stewarding, but we don't, so he can charge City whatever he wants, and we'll "cost" even more.
I don't suppose this will show up in the accounts unless the real cost of services is part of the audit.

I hope they get full audits of the accounts from 2010 onwards to unravel the allocations properly.

Even though it may cost the council a few bob, a full, forensic audit of the accounts, by outside (non-council), auditors would be money well spent. If for no other reason than to confirm what any, right-thinking person already suspects

| If Mr Allam has nothing to hide then surely he has nothing to fear and will support the idea of a forensic audit.
So it won't happen.

All this could change after the 7th May if we get a change of Council.

I wonder if Adam Pearson was paid 'compensation' for his dismissal by Allam... maybe these costs by the SMC, is a method of trying to recoup this..
