| Id love to see Sammutt in a Hull shirt, I said the same when I watched his debut, sadly I just can't see it happening.

Besides I never said I particularly wanted a Sammutt/Horney pairing I just thought I would add it to the rumours, some-one has to get it right in the end...just a shot in the dark
I'd like to see Sammutt at Hull, but Longy isn't going anywhere, so would they play 6 and 7 together ?
The thing that summed Horney up for me was the break he made against Rovers in the Derby at the KC, his pace has all but gone, he made the break ran towards the corner and was getting caught up by some of Rovers pack, he would and should have made a great full back / centre if he could have played in those positions regularly, but I think time, a few nasty injuries and his diabetes has hit him hard and his body looks to be telling him to call it a day.

| tbh id rather us leave the quota spot available and go for a young british halfback, with us signing a top class scrumhalf for 2012, monaghan would be a great signing for a year tho and would give us quality in the outside backs

Monaghan and Robinson would be my choice from the names chucked currently on the table - but if it's not to be a shaven Sammutt would be very agreeable too.
All three pie in the sky, though. This should be called The Wishing Thread, instead.

If we could get Monaghan it would be a great singing even if just for a year or 2, the guy is a major talent and a current test and state of origin star pretty much in his prime until the incident. We have been missing a player of Monaghans quality but it comes down I guess as to what is left on the cap and what priority the club have put on a replacement for Horne/Long?

Spot on. Was watching the Hull v Dobbins game the other day (bored and craving RL) and Horney really did put in a good performance. Just about stringing together some games and getting into some good form.
If this season he doesn't show it however, I think it might be enough is enough.

| the thing with Sammutt tho is hes a very weak defender and hasnt got a kicking game, theres no doubting hes a good off the cuff type player and would be good backup but id rather use the quota on monagahan for a year then recruit for 2012 looking at a world class halfback

| Agar in today's League Express denying any interest in Monaghan and Sammut.
Mind you, he denied the Westerman rumour's the same week we announced his signing so expect an announcement by the end of the week.

i still think they might be 1 more signing with a quota available and a bit of salary cap left and if burnett goes then adds a bit more cash, but its getting the right player not just signing anyone for the sake of it, for example monaghan would be a great bit of bussiness on a 1 year deal but why not just leave it available and wait till someone class becomes available.id be more then happy going into the new season with the squad weve got now with a focus on recruitment for 2012 with big players such as long, fitzy, dowes going you would think, then berro?,hame? need to perform well and earn new deals so theres alot of salary cap becoming available.
