I'm not Standee/PCollinson/Martin, wrong gender for a start
People should re read this thread. Bumpy actually said OAP's claiming a pension shouldn't get a concession not only on sports tickets but in daily living, yet students should and claimed fraud is prevelant in OAP- concessions, yet I got jumped on demanding to know why I think the over 60's and still in work should get a concession, which is not what Bumpy or I said.

| … sorry, I wasn't referring to you, just someone who happened to have registered today and has had a lot to say.
I doubt any sporting club has the right to ask if you are employed, but asking for proof of your age is very common.

That's a lie for a start off, I actually put more money into the club by buying the membership than if i'd simply paid full price on the gate. The fc live was neither here nor there and available to all fans.
It's not an age concession
I don't bother with a membership I just pay full price each time.
Maybe applying your pathetic rules, oap's are deliberately getting old to get the concession

Suck what up, I don't begrudge those getting the age concession, I just don't agree with it for the older group. Pathetic response frankly, totally ott.
Quote: Hessle Roader "I have been retired 13years,and after leaving the railway,I still get my free travel travel on the trains, which enabled me to attend all the home games when I was healthier, how about that bumpy.? Suppose you will be emailing the minister of transport now,to cry your eyes out over that.'"
boo-hoo, ditto my response above.
Quote: Hessle Roader "Anyone knocking concessions etc. Needs an head tap, but like de Murphy’s, I’m not bitter, unlike some.'"
I'm happy to pay full price, I voiced an opinion, it's you who sounds bitter, 'give my head a tap'

I'd better find your post then, but don't hold your breath.

you can get by on the basic state pension, you should try it, it's not hard really.
£3/4 a game or £40/50 a year is not going to change anything, even less total outlay buying a season pass.
that's not even taking account of those with a hard earned work pension.
clearly it's not me who is hard of thinking here.

yup, do have a look, I didn't buy the membership solely to get the fc live discount, not that that matters as it's not restricted to age nor is a concession. You apply the same venom to full membership holders for getting fc live half price if not, why not?

Iain Duncan Smith said something similar about JSA, we never did find out how much he had left of his £53 for the week.

So will you and the other detractors forgo your discount as and when and if you reach 60? I think not. Do you pay full pops for Maters tickets, I think not. I believe it’s a good gesture by any club to offer any discount no matter what it is. Friends for a fiver got the same reaction a few years ago when it was introduced as did cheap tickets to local rugby clubs. Who said “You can please some of the people all the time and you can please all the people some of the time but you can’t please all the people all the time” wise words.

There seems to be a contradiction here. Do you or do you not buy a membership.

Been retired for over 32 years now but did give the corporate work scene away at 47 in favour of unpaid charity work. Receive a part state pension from the UK of 46 quid a week. Not a grandad.
