Not of we signed someone like Whitehead. Plus if we got an NRL prop to go with Lynch and Paea and young Johnson then Watts would also move to the backrow. If not NRL then I reckon Lovegrove.

Widnes made to sign OCarroll as part of a deal so that we will sell them Tickle too ??

Would rather keep Tickle but understand him wanting to leave £200k a year. We should get a decent fee.

Which up and coming youngster have we binned without playing him? Ellis has had his chances and failed to take them.

johnson can't even get in wakey's team and watts, whilst having potential, hasn't really shown he's capable of being up there week in, week out. if they're our 3rd and 4th props next season then I think we'll struggle up front

Agreed, Ellis can kick but thats about it and he can't stay in shape. O Carroll has played every game available and is injury prone, Watts is bigger and more mobile so I see that as an upgrade.
Horne played well earlier on in the season, I think it is time for him to have a reduced role but I can't understand the vitriol about him, especially from people who don't see him play week in week out. Obviously the leaked signing of McDonnell was a sign management think that too.

Whilst I'm not saying Johnson is a world beater, I would not even come close to considering the selection decisions of Richard Agar as reliable testimony of a player's worth/ability. We know first hand that being picked or not by him is not necessarily about whether you deserve to be.

Unless Agar knows he's leaving so not playing him

I said also an NRL prop or Lovegrove. So they would be 4/5th choice. Johnson was doing well for Wakey then suddenly not getting picked, I wonder why?

| So, going off confirmed signings and rumoured departures, we're looking at...
1. New fullback
2. New winger
3. Joe Arundel
4. Kirk Yeaman
5. Tom Briscoe
6. Brett Seymour
7. New half back
8. New prop
9. Danny Houghton
10. Andy Lynch
11. Gareth Ellis
12. Joe Westerman
13. Richard Whiting
14. Adam Heremaia
15. Liam Watts
16. Jay Pitts
17. Richard Horne
Depending on the signings, there's definitely the nucleus of a good team there. If Tickle does go, I hope they give Whiting a shot at loose finally. He deserves it after all these years.

| Paul Johnson is a good second rower who has been very unfortunate under Agar. He won a few awards last year with us, and was without doubt our most consistent player. He isn't a prop, he does make yards but he gets banged about far too often due to his size. According to Agar, he is in contract talks with us, but I wouldn't be suprised to see him move. I would be very disappointed though!

It's the getting rid the day before the game which I found strange, especially since he's popular with other players.

Yep, I don't think his performances have been bad at all, and definitely not bad enough for us to just bin him off when we only have two other proper props anyway, as well as him having a meeting with Bomber later in the week to sort it out.
