You mean like yesterday when you said in your opinion I wasn't a fan of the club at all?

For wanting them to lose, not for attending games or otherwise. And FWIW I said that I couldn't see how you could describe yourself as a fan if you didn't want the team to win every game.

Ah I see so it's ok to lay into fans for 'expressing their passion in a different way' if they are doing it in a way that you personally don't agree with.
Gotcha
I actually agree with your point, I just don't think you're any less guilty of it than myself and others.

| Quote: Ian P "It was always going to get bitter, if people wish to protest its their choice as long as its non violent and non abusive. If the fans where diplaying a banner and chanting Agar out at the match on Sunday that is upto them. I can not for the life of me understand others getting hot under the collar and throwing insults at them.
The players are going to become involved as the club will use them as part of the spin and it is going to create friction and tension between everyone involved. The fans will take sides with one camp or another, fence sittiing will become an art.
The future is looking quite grim
On Friday night the club will propably come down hard on anyone displaying signs, banners or chanting they deem "not appropriate", they will attempt to snuff out any opposition within the KC. The board are not going to remain above this and they are running the risk of driving the fans away in droves'"
Yep, I think the club will try to divide and conquer first, it is going to get messy! and if the club continue to back Agar they will be the biggest losers in all this.

Personally, I don't think it's as black and white as that.
If someone said to me that if we lost the next two games Agar would definitely get the sack, I'd want us to lose the next two games. I want my club to do well - as does every fan - but it all depends what we mean by 'do well'. I believe that, if Agar stays in charge, eventually, we'll start to win a few games. We might finish 6th to 8th this year and we'll probably get knocked out of the play offs at the first time of asking. If that happens, I think he'll keep his job for next year, which will be much the same. This is not my idea of doing well (given the size of the club).
Contrast that to us having five (six? seven?) straight defeats, the board being forced into sacking Agar and a new coach coming in and turning us around. At that stage, it wouldn't be too late to mount a serious challenge on 5th spot, maybe win a playoff game and build for a proper challenge next year.
To me, the benefits would be worth the short term sacrifice of another 2 or 3 defeats. I realise that no one (other than Rule, and I don't suppose he's about to) could give me such a guarantee, but if they could, I'd be more than happy to see us lose to Crusaders and Wigan.

| I think everyone has differing opinions on the wanting to lose issue. I have been Anti Agar for a very long time however I personally could not go into any game hoping to lose. However I can use the fact a defeat may well lead to Agars dismissal as a cushion for the defeat.
However I can fully understand why people would be happy to see us lose X amount of games if it meant Agar was going to go. The only problem is nobody knows that magical moment when the board say enough is enough.

But there lies most of the issues, you and many others see finishing in the play offs as not good enough when all super league clubs see that as the pinicle of the season and anything after that is a bonus
we as a club do not have a given right to win silverware, yes it would be nice but in realistic terms were a bit off the pace for finals etc, but who knows where we will be in ten games thats the issue here...
at present a finish in the top 8 would do me just nice

It wouldn't for me. We finished 6th last season so anything less than that means we have gone backwards.

To progress like we should then would be to finish above 6th and win at least one play-off game.

I don't think we have a 'right' to silverware at all. What I do think is that a club of our size, with its fanbase and off the field set up, should be up there competing with the top 3 or 4 teams in the competition and be in with a [irealistic chance[/i of winning something. At the moment, we're nowhere near. And we won't be until we have a new coach.
If a top 8 finish would be 'just nice' for you, that's your prerogative. I feel we should be aiming higher.

So Wigan, Saints, Wire, Leeds, even Hudds and Rovers see finishing anywhere in the top 8 of a 12 team competition as reaching their pinnacle. That really is genuinely funny, good work!
