Cas would want a huge fee for him, throw in his wage demands and would it be such a good idea to sign a Kiwi coming into his prime just for 2-3 seasons who must surely have aspirations of going home and making it in the N.R.L?
Would rather have the likes of Ellis who if we look after him could be here for the next 10 years.

Pearson has already said he's willing to flash some cash to put us back on the SL map, I personally can't think of any better realistic candidate than arguably the best half in the league who, as you point out, is entering his prime. If he wanted to go home after 2 or 3 years of playing for us like he's done for Cas but amongst better players then he'd have more than served his purpose. His wages wouldn't be an issue because we'd only be paying them for as long as he's here. I personally don't think it's gonna happen, but if it did there's no reason we can't have him and Ellis on the books.

Hopefully the new regimes on and off the pitch will drive some bloody ambition back into you!
