Salford Red Devils RLFC.
[quote="Gotcha":y7izhg01]Salford won't win Super League in my lifetime. Even saying in jest they would sounds stupid.[/quote:y7izhg01]: |

| Quote: Mr. Zucchini Head "I was referring more to Sneyd going to Cas than to us. He obviously wasn't highly regarded at that point since you were willing to let him go on loan.'"
Just because a player goes on loan, it doesn't mean he isn't rated by the club. In Brian Noble's defence, who could have predicted what a great 3/4's of a season he and Castleford (as a team) would have.
Quote: Mr. Zucchini Head "Wasn't he playing hooker at Salford before he joined Cas, I'm sure he has played hooker at some point. Bonus eh, 5 hookers now at FC!'"
No, but the season before he had a spell at full-back.
Quote: Mr. Zucchini Head "A Salford fan posting how we paid over the odds for Sneyd!
Could've been worse, we could have paid over the odds for a full squad and flop!'"
Which player(s) did we spend over the odds on, that were poor enough to be described as flops? £50k on Tim Smith wasn't smart, but at the time he was certainly worth it and has shown similar form since returning to Wakefield to justify his valuation. Just didn't work out for him at Salford.
PS - where did I say you've paid over the odds? Young British halves are difficult to come by and if Richie Myler is worth £250k (or whatever stupid amount Warrington paid for him) Sneyd (as the better player) is worth £115k.

Where have I ignored the fact that we look to have a problem at hooker?

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?: |

By spending most of your time posting rubbish on this forum rather than your own.

So just to get this straight, he never ever runs from dummy half, apart from when he does?

| I'm not one for spouting negative vibes about players, even when they leave. More often than not I'll post something on their new teams forum about the positives in their game. When players move on there is a tendency for fans of the Club they are leaving to belittle or cast negatives around as validation, in their own minds, of why they have moved on. Often, players form and ability can change with the change of scenery and coaching so events of the past can not be held as Gospel when looking to the future.
Having said that, Howarth is the exception.
I can't really say anything positive about his game. He does a job any average player could do. He excels at nothing, and as time goes on his already slow hands and feet are beginning to look way out of place. He can't pass off the ground. Always half-standing before letting predictable and slow passes go. He'll give intercepts because of it. Any opposition hooker worth their salt will run all over him. He can graft, which is something. But the days of being lauded as a grafter alone are probably gone.
Hopefully for you guys, he'll fit into the category of player who gets a new lease of life with a scenery change. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

If Radford is telling the truth, he will only play if we get injuries, which based on the opinions you guys have (which personally I give a lot of credence to), I am hoping is true and that our players stay fit.

No one really cares. He's a last minute addition to the squad on a pittance for a year. he'll probably get little game time all season and if he does he'll not be in very long if he isn't up to it. If we had tommy lee as our first choice hooker or something then I'd be worried but signing a player with decent experience to act as a back up in case of emergencies is hardly something to be concerned about

He must realise this is probably his last chance to prove himself at SL level so as you say he may get a new lease of life.
Talanoa last year came with a similar situation and had a great season, so who knows, hopefully its a positive signing, but we will see.
