No problem, I know exactly what you mean, the day Galea has deserved the right to offer comment will be when he's finally had a decent game. (and I mean a game where he has been consistent for every minute he has played)

| The way I see it:
1) Our steely defence, which brought us through some of those close games in the 9/10 run has gone AWOL.
2) We are crap in attack at present, but there is some mitigation in that we've had umpteen HB combos with Seymour, DJ, Horne, Heremaia, Westerman etc all having a go, and looks like another one coming up. On the plus side, Miller looks keen with some early promise. Lineham and Crooks are quality. The best business we could do this season would be getting Crooks on a long deal. On the downside, Yeaman, Briscoe, Crookes and Arundel have been very poor value relative to the shining example of the inexperienced Lineham and Crooks. Worrying that the last 2 are contracted and likely to be first choice next season.
3) With the quality available, the last 3 performances have been totally unacceptable and put a massive sledgehammer blow through our league aspirations to get a couple of play-off wins. Nowhere near good enough.
4) The game in France is huge, but even if we win, unless we get London/Shefield we'll be out in the semis.
5) If we lose in France, unless we pull out miraculous performances in the play-offs, the season is a failure by the club's proclaimed standards and aspirations. I do wonder whether there will be consequences. Hard to sell passes for a formula that delivers mediocrity and no element of novelty.
6) I love Clarky, but the fans need a break from the relentless PR machine. Come back and talk it up when we've redeemed ourselves on the pitch. Or be honest about what's achievable with this group of players and coaching set-up.
7) It's fecking hard yards supporting this club at times, particularly with endless unfulfilled promises of glory. But it's the same for all but 1-2 clubs every year. And I wouldn't be anywhere else.

| Quote: WIZEB "It can and does change rapidly though.
There was gonna be some serious questioning regards Gentle earlier in the season until Shaul scored that try at Wakey.
We put up a much improved performance against Huddersfield and go and get a result in France and things take a different twist yet again.
Let's hope so.'"
Personally, that won't be enough to convince me that anything has changed. The next key performance IMO is Bradford away. I fully expect us to be better in the next 2 games, it's what we do: We're playing a top 4 side, and a cup game, and we're off the back of some poor performances. Our players seem to turn up focussed in those circumstances. The problem is that it seems to take such circumstances for them to get their heads right, and until they get it into their thick heads that they need to turn up with the right mentality EVERY WEEK we/they will continue to be also-rans.

Completely agree, I said about it before the game. He's either got a strange sense of humour, no self-awareness about his performances, or just an outright f***ing cheek.

| I like many Hull supporters was disappointed with last night's overall poor performance & after listening to Peter Gentle's 'after match' comments [on R.H.] I am concerned that all may not be well within the club @ the present time. If I heard him correctly he mentioned something about it [in general terms] when answering a question but quickly stated that the matter would be resolved quickly.
I hope that if there is such a problem then it is resolved & that we as supporters can watch better performances from our team that we saw last night.

Quote: VoiceOfReason "IMO you have got a couple of players in your side that are letting you down at present with their boozy antics
I know both Joe and Liam very well but what did they both do for your cause last night?
They both made one break each which resulted in tries being scored, but surely that is not enough is it as they could both be International players with their undoubted abilty?
If you don't believe me as to what state they get into then get yourselves into the Airedale crown in Castleford on any Sunday after a Hull game and you'll see!
I have told the pair of them to buck their ideas up and on numerous occasions too but they keep on giving too much of their spare time to the beer I'm afraid
I suppose that Hull is just far enough away for them to continue with it too and still get picked each week too'"
Hmmmmmm......

| You are like warrington before smith took over.
You need a decent coach who will come in and change the culture at the club. For a club that wants to win trophies not one of your coaching apointments over nearly the last decade have been good. Kear, gentle agar sharp they've all been substandard and that really takes it's toll over a long period of time, the knock on effect of it.
Another issue is your recruitment, which has IMO still been questionable. Theres been alot of chest beating from the fans after a few name players have been signed. Like last season when ellis was signed, there was alot of crowing about how he'd chosen hull because they were going places and the leeds fans response was very much a 'meh wasn't that bothered about him anyway' which naturally drew derision from the hull fans - 'jealous!!'. But the reality is leeds fans knew he'd be pretty beat up from a stint in the nrl and would likely be susceptible to injuries with his best form left in the nrl. The leeds club may have known it too but we don't know the ins and outs. It's the same reason leeds moved webb on, who now suprise suprise is injury prone, the same reason lauititi was moved on. The point is, these are the subtle but smart type of recruitment decisions that the hull club has been lacking.

Some truth in this. Warrington regularly looked far better on paper than they did on the pitch prior to Smith's tenure. Even allowing for some of the issues we've faced this season, we've underachieved given the personnel available.

| How many people have tried to sort this problem out?
We have heard it all before, the only excuse we havent heard was that the grass was to long.
Some of the players cant be d to put a shift in.
Perhaps Gentle will be the next to fail.
We could all put a list together of the players who have let us and the club down.

| MY POINT IS, FOR EVERY DECENT SIGNING WE MAKE, WE SEEM TO COUNTER-ACT IT WITH MEDIOCRITY, NOW I KNOW THE SALARY CAP IS MASSIVE PART OF THE GAME NOWADAYS, BUT SURELY THERE IS BETTER QUALITY AVAVILBLE THAN FOR EG. GALEA,
