Quote: berrigans bitch "I thought that tbh...in fact I posted it on here, bet O'Meley does not have to go in the 20s, nor did Tom Briscoe when he was out long term.....really stupid and proving costly to the team and fans....AGAR GET IT SORTED
The thing is, i don't mind to a certain extent. But Horne just doesn't have the quality to command that sort of treatment, thet's why it must like a kick in the teeth for the other players in the squad. Plenty of questions for Agar tomorrow me thinks!!

But he is a senior player, commanding a high wage icon_wink.gif

Hope you get the answers...but what I hope for is to see Calders playing on Thursday icon_frustrated.gif

If you had seen MC play in the reserves then you would understand why he was left out......the bloke has been out for months, looked very nervous....missed several tackles and did not catch one single ball on the full!! He obviously has lost his confidence in a lot of departments and needs time in the reserves to build back up again before he is exposed to 1st team rugby. IMO Agar has done the right thing by Calders not to rush him back and given more fit players available to him might have done the same thing with Horne.

Or maybe he just doesn't give a about playing in the reserves because he's been hung out to dry. How many minutes did Horne play in the reserves last week then to warrant a place in the side this week?? (and based on his performance needs to be dropped from the squad anyway)

Lots of first team play poorly when they are in the reserves/U20's and the majority of the time they are only playing there to get match fitness back. I am pretty sure Meley/Long etc wont be spending time in the reserves when they return from injury.

Based on a short stint at hooker (a position he has rarely played in his career) after a long lay-off?

Should we drop every player who had a poor game on Saturday? Or just the ones that are cool to slag off?

I think anyone expecting much of Horne on saturday was surely kidding themselves. It takes time to get back into it like we saw earlier in the season, he played a few average games then produced two cracking ones before getting another knock.

Not at all, Horne is not a player i rate at all. He doesn't fill me with confidence when his name is on the team sheet and when he returns from an injury i don't think 'Thank god for that, we've missed him' as i would with Tansey, Briscoe, Long, O'Meley, Fitz and many others.........

But the actual point i made was that Calderwood has returned from injury and then been made to sit on the sidelines when 100% fit, then been made to play u20s and frozen out by the club, while Mr Average just walks straight back into the squad and was shiiiiiite!!!

How can any player that has been out since February with a 27cm hamstring tear with one reserve game since be anywhere near 100% fit? Prior to the reserve match he was still undergoing a late fitness test...i am not a fan of Agar but from what i have seen of Calders he has made the right decision not to play him yet and as he has cover in this position whats the problem...to suggest he is out of favour is garbage....if he had brought him back and had played like he has in the reserves,' lacking in confidence ' then Agar would have been at fault again so he can't win either way.

As for Horne he was probably brought straight back in out of desparation as there is no half back cover, had adequate cover been available then Horne would have probably played in the reserves as well

So are you actually saying that Agar does like Calderwood but he won't be here next season?

Whether you rate Horne or not, you are in fact judging him on a single performance as reiterated in your last sentence above.

I don't know what's happening with Calderwood any more than you do. We don't even know for sure that he's 100% fit. It's possible it may have to do with his injury, or it may be something more sinister. I'd say that Horne was put straight in because of the HB situation except that our genius coach didn't use him there. Personally I'd have preferred that he had a run in the U20's to being thrown on in an unfamiliar position. I'm not going to have a go at him because of something the coach did though.

No. He's saying that Agar doesn't [idislike[/i him. There is a difference.

Desparation gets you nowhere, it makes the problem worse!! We could put fit players in half back positions which would do better than an 'unfit' Horne. He was a major weak link in our side on Saturday and that proves the desparation tag to have blown up in Agar's face. Horne has to be in the u20s this week, do you think he will be??
