| As little disruption to the team continuity as possible. We're already suffering there with injuries.
Same starting 13
Maybe a change on the bench. I think Charles is worth a look to see how he's going. And a kick up the jaxi for Balmforth.

| Are Salfold the only side we haven't beaten in the last 3 season including this one?

That's correct Dave. We've lost the last five to them. Out last win over Salford was 48-16 in February 2022. Since 2020 we've played them ten times and won just twice. We concecded 50+ in three of those games.

| I'm expecting a workmanlike win. Nothing spectacular probably by about 20 points. I'd love us to put them to the sword but can't see it

I'd take that, just need the two points, if Pryce and Asiata play think we would run amok.

| Interested to see how we start the game. Had the feeling this year against the weaker teams we think we can score on every set, from minute 1. Once it doesn't go to plan we're not willing to roll out sleeves up and grind a way back into the game and we arguably try even harder to force a play from somewhere.Think we need to start this one conservatively, retain the ball, solid but disciplined defence, and earn good field position to then start throwing the ball around. We made about 16 errors last week. Even Salford will eventually capitalise and punish that if we play that poorly again. We don't ever seem to try and force repeat sets through drop outs anymore either. I get we have some good aerial threats with Martin, Litten and Barron, but sometimes it would be nice to just see up build pressure and tire a team out. The rewards will come later from that.

Yes, agree. All we need to do is play basic no-frills rugby and the points will most likely come, but I worry that we'll start going for the spectacular right from the off and when it doesn't come off we're liable to start panicking and start pushing the pass even more. Salford are clearly one of the weakest teams there has been in the thirty years of SL, due to circumstances, and we really need to keep cool clear heads this afternoon and just work the win. If we stay calm it should be a relatively straightforward two points, but you can never fully tell with us, as we saw last Friday.

We conceded 50+ in three of those games. They've become something of a bogey side to us of late (one of a few in truth!!!). Going back a little further, didn't they put 50+ on us in 2017? And that's when we were a top-four cup-winning side!!! At least there's no Marc Sneyd to pull us apart this afternoon!

Fair enough for me. Don't think Balmforth has shown anything so far to make him worth a bench spot. Cust has looked more dangerous running from 9 than him. Really hopeful though that being dropped gives him a kick up the to return to his form of last season.Ashworth to be the next one dropped unless he shows something good today.
