| BBC Sport story saying 6k sold for Saturday and aiming for 10k. Hate to say it but Craven Park would have been a better choice for the group game. That kind of crowd would fill there but in the MKM it will look sp.

Agreed not only that we only average 11k rovers 7k
Yet people get on the high horse why were not selling out wc games
Most of the games is 99% English rugby league fans so expecting them to fork out every game isn't going to happen
The 2m viewers on TV is more important to growing the game getting non rugby league fans into the game "WOW What a game this is"

It’s not just the price is it though. It’s more the overall cost of paying for a game that whilst it maybe NZ, they are playing Jamaica who with the greatest of respect are not a World renowned RL nation. So expecting fans to turn up to pay £30 upwards for games of this type is crazy.
If I’m honest midweek I’d rather get home from work without having to rush to get to a game without family and simply watch on tv a game that is on paper and in all fairness very one sided.
Whether we like it or not RL currently just doesn’t have the gravitas or following/pull to be able to charge the prices the organisers are.

I agree. The key to growing the game is terrestrial tv.
Lets hope Channel 4 screen more games with a more attractive kick off time and look at Sundays too.
The BBC could also get good viewing figures by showing a weekly repeat of a live game from SKY.
Sunday around 19.00 would be a good time

Lets be realistic if all tickets were priced at £5 for this meaningless game they wouldnt have more than 15,000 at the game
Even if entrance was free the ground wouldnt be full

We live in hope.
Getting bored with the uncompetiveness of the competition.
Hope the knockout format from this game on makes things a little more viewable.

I’ve not been following it closely (not watched a whole game since the opener) but I hate to think what the average margin of victory has been.
You’re always going to get some blowouts in World Cup but only 2 close games so far is disappointing.

41.6 points before this evening's Samoa/France game. Nine out of twenty-two have been 50+ margins.

England v Fiji was only £10 a ticket for a warm-up match at Salford, only about 6k there, next year's challenge cup final tickets have early bird offers on, it won't sell out either, cheaper tickets don't always equal bigger crowds. Even the last major international at the kcom back in 2018 only had 17.5k there

Not great. Difficult to sell a festival of RL vibe in an English October as well, especially given that a few countries don’t have meaningful numbers of fans willing to dress up in telegenic, nationally representative costume.
Hopefully things will pick up from a sporting perspective in the knockout stages.

| So it's NZ-Fiji as expected and while Fiji look error prone it should be more of a contest than what we have seen so far.
Hope the City turns up for this game, despite the stupid price of the half way line seats there are still £25 seats available and worth remembering that it's been £31 on the day to watch the dross Hull have served up in recent years. I fear if it's another poor crowd the MKM will be off the list for internationals for a while.
