| Quote: lummy "Ironic that Anthony Thackeray should be lining up against Miller eh. Wonder how smug he felt last night after such a dominant display, scoring a couple of times to boot (scored 5 the other week!). See some Dewsbury fans moaning anout Millers attitude, they will of course have expected him to be a 'fairly decent' player, so obviously put his performance down to attitude, not realising (and why would they) that he's simply a poor player.
Thackeray was a local lad on peanuts, never given a chance whilst we were happy to mickey about with various half back combos pulling players like Berrigan and Washy out of position on a regular basis. Not saying he'd have made it with us but food for thought, especially in relation to salarys being earnt/cap etc.
PS - Who was the poor sod who normally plays 7 for Donny?! Wonder what Cooke will do now Miller becomes his 'problem'?'"
ive said that all along. I thought I was being s little biased, due to being best mates with him back when we were younger.
played twice for us and played well, played for widnes cas and fax, alongside so good half backs and learnt a good game.
followed his career hoping he would get his chance at the big time.

| It really does sound like he's preparing to go home. I hoped he'd do the biz for us with his mate but sadly it seems not

| I'd always thought Thacks wasn't given a real chance, while dreadful halfbacks were.
Shame really.

Pretty sure it's Rich Wilkinson wasn't he on our books at some point? + unless I'm mistaken he made League Weekly's team of the week last week.

| Thing is, didn't he represent NSW and Australia at his age group?.
That would indicate he's got a decent skill set and is/was a good player.
Was hoping he was going to be our scrum half for years to come, but can't see it happening now, especially under the current regime.

| It was Rich Wilkinson & he did make the team of the week last week.
A lot of Donny fans not happy about him being left out & even more so after the game !

| I feel he has ample chances to show his worth and only occasionaly did he look a s/l scrum half, has to be moved on. Radford received a lot of flak for not playing him and now we know why he left him out.

Was he injured then or just left out in favour of Miller?

Millers skill set is very good, he's a very naturally gifted player.
The trouble is players who can do what we want him to do, to the standard we need and at his age just don't exist. It takes a very special player to run the team at 21 years old, they probably come around only a couple of times in a generation. There are of course good halfbacks kicking about at that age, but they tend to be runners, not on field generals.
If Miller gets himself a good club, with the right players around him, and the right coaching, then he will be a top player 3 or 4 years down the line. Unfortunately we can't wait that long.

Over generous in my opinion. For a start his kicking game is at best average and realistically probably not that good which is a skill that is critical in his position at this level. His running game hasn't exactly had the opposition reeling and his pass quality is reasonable again at best.
If he had high standards in these departments but was simply too young to manage a game then there would be a future for him as he matures. As I pointed out pre-Doncaster game if his skills and 'gifted' attributes were there he should rip it up in the Championship especially with a game manager as good as Cooke alongside him. It's early days for him there yet but the signs aren't particularly good.

| Shame it looks odds on it isn't going to happen for Milky and ourselves.
Tim Sheens thought he was capable enough at an early age.
PG thought he was capable of making the transition to bring him half way round the world, and I know Gaz Ellis (who incidentally, has been monumental in a disappointing season) thought he could also cut the mustard for us.

| Tbh i thought Milky was thrown in at the deep end last season and hasn't fully recovered. Loss of form and confidence and possibly home sick. Plus everytime he plays he's always targetted and generally gets smacked 2/3 times.
I think he is a good player and could be a quality 7 but not in England.
