| Great news. I don't have to neck down my half time pint plus I can annoy the miserable barsteward who sits at the end of my row and complains every time he has to stand up for someone. Win win situation for me

| Quote: Kosh "If fans enter the ground drunk and cause bother then that's down to the stewarding and the club is unlikely to suffer. If those same fan enter the ground drunk while there is alcohol on sale then [ieven if they don't have a drink inside the ground[/i the club will be held responsible. Therein lie the huge difference and the reason the ban was brought in. Reversing it has opened us up to possible fines when we have [ino control whatsoever[/i over either who gets admitted to the ground, who gets served, or how the stewards deal with trouble.
This is a misguided PR stunt IMO and will most likely bite us in the backside.'"
So we're the only club in RL that should not be allowed to drink, we're so different?
Not buying it, we should have the choice just like at all away grounds where people drink a lot more.

How many other clubs fans have as bad a record with alcohol-related incidents at their own stadium? At how many other stadia are both the outlets and the stewards completely outside of the club's control?
What happens at away grounds is irrelevant. It's a different mix of fans drinking under different conditions. The point with drinking at the KC is that we have actual history of it causing problems. Now - if we'd identified what caused those problems and done something to address them then I could see the case for lifting the ban. But as far as I can tell nothing like that has been done and we're just hoping that it'll be different this time around.
I'm not anti-drinking [iper se[/i - I'm know to have a pint at away games - but I'm concerned about the risk to the club. We really don't need any more bad news stories, do we?

| Could selling beer during the match help with renegotiating the SMC deal? Increased profits at the bars could make for a more favourable outcome for us.

Problem is the stewards seem afraid to confront people at the KC.

Says the bloke who doesnt even go to homes matches.I have a drink sometimes before the match but never go in drunk as you claimed some fans do and very rarely drink in the ground anyway so doesnt really bother me.

I do actually go to home games - just not many. And quite what that has to do with having an opinion on potential risk to the club is beyond me to be honest. Unless you're claiming that there's never been any trouble due to drunk idiots?
On a personal level it doesn't bother me either. I don't drink at the KC but on the flip side I've never had any trouble with folk around me drinking when it was allowed. It's the potential risk of trouble for the club that I'm concerned about.

If someone creates a problem then ban them, it will soon stop. Don't pander to them and ban it for all. There will be the odd incident so deal with it.

Here here. Alike other clubs in the SL - They can deal with it, so our club can too.

Which is fine in principle. However, other clubs in SL have direct control over stewarding and/or the drinks outlets. We don't, and the stewards at the KC are notoriously rubbish when it comes to clamping down on bad behaviour.
As I said earlier, had these issues been addressed then no problem with the ban being lifted. Since nothing seems to have changed what makes anyone think that we'll get a different result this time around?

| Has the ban been lifted so the SMC can recoup lost revenues from any proposed reduction in FCs stadium rent?

I'm sorry but we pay the SMC enough at the moment, that's there issue. They'll have to invest in some better training.
Its a minority that spoil it, and whilst I don't condone it what so ever I don't feel everyone else should be punished. I am more than happy to be able to have a pint back in the stand.
