I'll wait until I see the detailed judgement before venting my spleen. There is the off-chance that the footage supplied to the video panel didn't include an angle that showed the act clearly enough, as I don't think they're allowed to use Sky footage and rely on the club's camera feed only.

That, in itself, is fooking ridiculous. The Sky footage is evidence - usually the best evidence - and shouldn't be excluded. |

There's nothing in the rlguidelinesrl that would suggest that and to be honest, I can't believe the RFL would leave themselves open to the possibility of litigation by refusing to accept readily available evidence. |

The fact there is NO evidence whatsoever of Ablett gouging Manu's eyes might have escaped you.
Yes, it looked bad.
Yes, he was silly to rake his face.
But he never made any contact with his eyes.
Don't like that spoil your victims persona though-obviously Leeds are the evil party and have the RFL in their pockets!

To be fair those guidelines make no mention of video evidence at all.
I'm not 100% certain of this, but several sources have mentioned it. Apparently the justification is that it wouldn't be 'fair' to use Sky footage as it isn't available at every game. Unfortunately that sounds entirely plausible. |
