It was the phrase "NEVER breaks a tackle" in your post that completely threw me.

| Quote: thehullwhitestar "Getting rid of Radford would be a massive stride forward for our squad !! He offers absolutely nothing in attack, usually has his hands on his hips after 10 minutes or so and as for the captaincy, that is an utter pi$$take.
Get rid and try to replace him with a Gilmour/Wild type of SR. Washbrook or Whiting should be an obvious option at loose forward that any fool could see. With regard to this "third prop" scenario, if we had Burgess/Graham/Peacock smashing up the middle of the pitch as our third prop then fine, great idea, but we have Radford who offers zero go-forward while doing his little hop, skip and lamely take a tackle.'"
I completely disagree with every single part of your post apart from the "third prop" thing which hasn't proved itself to work yet. However, perhaps it was the only option available to us while Washy and Whiting were injured and, therefore, unavailable to play 13. I think it would be a good idea to rotate Radders with Tickle to give Tickle a rest and offer us a change of style during the match.

Oh yes sorry I forgot that "he does all the things that we don't notice" I really must watch more carefully !!!!
I really cannot understand exactly why we signed him, why he has been given extensions sice then or why he is the captain. It absolutely baffles me !!! He is mediocrity personified and he is one of the biggest examples of why our squad is so ordinary.
He works hard and applies himself, FULL STOP. If we actually want to compete with the best, which I don't think is the No. 1 priority of our board BTW, we need rid of players of his ilk (and we do have a lot of them) and we need to bring in some real go-forward in our pack, a world class SH and some quality and strike to our centres.
While JR and KH are more interested in prioritising things off-the-field and looking after the balance sheet, it's just not going to happen. We are run like a very successful business and, unlike our sickly little neighbours, success on the field is not the No.1 priority and the signing and re-signing of the likes of Radford only confirm that for me.

Amen Brother!!!!!
Finally a black a white speaking sense!!
Most top sides have 2nd rower running forwards who can break tackles, off load and create tries. Pualleta, O'loughlin - even Galea - we have plodders and tackle, Ok theres Manu but he's that wide that our 1 up drives never get the ball to him!!! We have no tackle busting props - except from 10 min Sam ( Now dropped for being our best player against Salford in the cup). We re-sign players who did so poorly last year. Even when Agar promised his 'Big clearout' after the derby defeat.

| Firstly, lets hope Manu recovers soon whatever his injury because he is one of our best attacking options when played correctly. By that I mean coming off the bench in short spells to provide impact.
He has taken a bit of stick lately for being lazy but he has just had to play more game time than he should and shouldn't be slagged off for holding his hands up tp play.
However, with Bernet fit and looking like a very good prospect indeed, when Manu does return hopefully the pair can be interchanged throughout the game.
On the Radford issue I think he has bulked up to the size of a prop and that should be where he plays. But not as a third prop on the field as that is very negative in my opinion. He works hard and does the hard graft but as mentioned ealier in another post we have options for the loose position in abundance, Washy, Whiting,Tickle or Lee for eg.
