Cuddle Club Rules 1. You dont talk about Cuddle club 2. YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT CUDDLE CLUB!!!! PS3 tag = Robbo_4444:20348.jpg

Quote: The Key "Calderwood tries much harder than Briscoe, takes the ball up more, tackles better and with more passion. He looks to do more work than Briscoe. To say that Calderwood has been poor is laughable. He has barely had a good ball and the only time he gets to chase a ball now is on the last tackle and the winger has usually dropped back anyway. The only time Calderwood ha slooked poor is when a high bomb is put up to him.
Briscoe started well, he looked strong and wanted to get involved. Now I feel he looks average in defence, doesn't look to get involved as much and is less effective. He too though has been hindered by a lack of good ball although he gets more than Calderwood. I certainly havent seen this supposed 'flair' though.
Briscoe will be a star, but I really think that he isn't criticised due to his age, whereas Calderwood is criticised because alot of people didn't like him before he came here and he is expected to be superman basically'"

Lets give him the ball in a gap and see what he can do

On Friday we used his pace once and Rich Whiting scored

Quote: Mild mannered Janitor "I used to be a fan of Yeaman's but there are far too many who hold a candle for his past performances of 5 years ago.

Someone laughably described him as world class on this forum not that long ago.

A player of his experiance should have more with the ball in hand than, head down and simply to plough head on into the on running tackler. He has no side step and doesn't pass the ball to his wing man when opportunity knocks.

He is robust in defence but all too often (and this is not just singling him out, King and Manu are well guilty of this), he jumps out of the defencive line only to miss a tackle resulting is a huge overlap generally resulting in us conceding a try.

On current performance should that elusive world class centre sign for us, Yeaman would be the one making way for him.'"

Very well said

Quote: CHURCHILL "Thing with Calderwood is that he's a type of player that has to be used to his strengths. In time the team will learn I'm sure but till that happens he is spot balled for his errors, some of which aren't always down to Calderwood but the player giving him the ball or those leaving him stranded when defending a kick on his own line.

Put him in the clear and he's gone, hint to Horne and Thorman plus the centre inside. We love you Whiting, we do icon_biggrin.gif
I agree with using Calderwoods strengths, that's the only way he will shine

Calderwood needs to be given a free role, roaming around the pitch, and stick to his wing in defence only. Also, where have his quick 20 metre restarts been? That's one of the benefits of having Calderwood in the side, surely?

Calderwood could be one of our better players, he has had a lot of stick becuase of a combination of we dont use him properly and because quite simply a lot of people that follow Hull are just morons.

Sorry but yeaman for me has been very dissapointing, yes we have been on the back foot for the last few weeks but in the matches we were winning he wasn't all that & lately has been average at best.

We cant drop him at the moment due to injuries but how would he react to been dropped for not putting in the performances we know he can produce?
And yes those slagging Calders off need to go to specsavers, more consistant than T.Briscoe and made far fewer mistakes.

An honest piece in today's mail

Let's hope the other players do realise this and knuckle down to some decent rugby.

Quote: ChrisH "Fair play to Calderwood for fronting up.
But how do you go back to basics from where we are? Just stand still? Maybe they did believe their own publicity but it certainly didn't result in them looking over confident or trying tp play flashy rugby. They just lack enthusiasm and make very basic mistakes eg can't catch ,can't pass ,can't kick. Week in week out. Far from over confident they've generally looked miserable this season.
Did Agar believe the hype too? If not it was his job to keep their feet on the ground. Either way the management of the playing group and their attitude and motivation is down to him and frankly he looks lost and sounds unprofessional everytime I see or hear him. can't see him impressing anyone.'"

indeed, they weren't exactly throwing the ball around arogantly were they icon_lol.gif

I think Calderwood has been trying recently, probably because he knows that if he fails to impress at Hull his career at a top level is over really, as everyone will have forgotten how he played for Leeds by then
