| Quote: Mrs Barista "Reading Twitter updates, sounds like Shaul had a very good game. Don't know much about him other than his name cropping up a fair bit as having a lot of potential. Anyone got a summary of him as a player?'"
Played full-back for Skirlaugh first team, won young player of the year 2010/11 at Skirlaugh, represented Great Britain (Barla) under 19s then picked up by FC, his first season at FC he won player of the year under 20s (last season). Safe under the ball, good footwork, good defender & fast in open field, great prospect.
I think this kid shows that the scouting has not always being that good in Hull tbh, a fair few have been released from both clubs aged around 17 yrs old having been picked up around the age of 12-13 yrs old and tbh from what I have seen these kids have a few things to learn from some of the talent who were never picked up, wealth of talent out there but tbf to both clubs they are starting to realise this, scouting should not stop once they have their squads as some kids develop later on, another example of this is Scott Taylor who was never picked up until he was 16/17yrs old, he never even got service area games.

Just been made vice captain too which suggests he will be getting plenty of minutes. He's a certain starter for me.

| Very, very impressed with your young guns today.
I'll be more than happy to have any 5 of them at the Knights this year!
Good luck for the season.

| Jamie Shaul really impressed me today. Seems to be in the Shannon McDonnell mould - attack minded and a good open field runner. He also linked into the line well.
I was also impressed with James Cunningham at hooker. He seems to have real talent and definitely has the look of a future Super League regular. I'd expect him to replace Heremaia as interchange hooker next season - and hopefully get a few runouts this season too.
We already know about Lineham and Crooks - I'd be amazed if Lineham isn't regularly included in the first team this year. Likewise Chris Green.
I also thought Nicklas improved as the game went on. I'm not convinced he'll make it as a top line SL half back, but I think he'll go very well for York this year.

Very much like the look of Cunningham, seems a bright kid too.

Rubbish. I wouldn't have them anywhere near your first team all season.

| How are we going to keep some of these guys match fit ? While some can go to York the likes of Horne, Whiting, Pitts, Johnson, Cunningham and Shaul are all over 19 so by my understanding they have nowhere to play if not playing first team.
In addition if you have a player returning from injury with no facility to come back as an overage player in the U-20's where would they get match fit ? I don't understand why they got rid of the U-20's.

I think it's a simple question of finance.

| i know its early days yet but i would wager that Green will get an England knights call this year, the kids workrate is outstanding and about as agressive as any player in our squad, looks a real talent in every way , andalso super fast for a massive unit isnt he, he will be hard to keep out of the starting bench this year

They could turn out for York if the club wanted them too. Widnes have put the whole squad on duel reg with Workington (minus Loan/Quota players) to deal with getting players back to full fitness
