Thurs 22nd July Hudds A
Mon 26th July Salford H
Friday 30th July Leeds H
Mon 2nd Aug Saints H
Obviously any more postponements and we are in trouble.'"
I had a quick look at the fixtures earlier and this seems the best/only time we could squeeze another game in.
Maybe we'll have some contract news this week to lighten the mood...

Jesus. Daily infection rates are rising exponentially - 20k yesterday. Looking very ominous. Good job Johnson acted quickly and closed the border with India or we could have been in real trouble.

But the big question is...does the number of cases matter anymore? While Deaths and Hospitalisations have gone up a bit it's nowhere near the increase we'd have seen without the vacinne's.
Don't forget many of the cases people haven't had any symptoms, and they are actively encouraging people with no symptoms to do tests, kids do flow tests each week etc so no wonder we are spotting more cases. If they did a load of testing for ,'normal Flu' each winter we'd see some big numbers too.
Age wise SL players should have now been offered the jab and if they've had it we should be at the 3 week mark for a bit of protection soon which should help matters.

I see your point about deaths and hospitalisations but worry from a Rugby point a view that as infections rise in the community there's more likelihood that players and non playing staff testing positive resulting in more fixtures being cancelled.

In my opinion SL is going to have to change it policy very soon to one where if a player has been jabbed and tests positive he can still play provided he has no symptoms and is happy to do so, on the basis that transmission is much lower with a jab. In a normal season players will take to the field with coughs, colds, aftermath of dodgy kebabs etc there's always some risk of catching something, as long as it isn't serious or deadly it shouldn't matter. As a society we can stay inside wrapped up in cotton wool forever.

I agree, it can't go on forever as society will collapse completely. The major worry is if there's another variant which the vaccine offers you little or no protection which would be catastrophic. Happy crack aren't I !!

didnt close it quick enough then let all the arrivals from India mix with other Heathrow arrivals until someone pointed it out and they opened a seperate terminal to keep them apart a couple of weeks later but that was too late.
Government has a lot to answer for this but seem to have dodged the bullet

Could be very controvesial if games in the last couple of rounds are postponed and unable to be played before the play offs especially if a team needs to avoid losing to make the top six.

| Sounds like the Government is looking at lifting restrictions later next month and allowing us to live with Covid as a virus.
While cases have increased recently, the subsequent hospitalizations and deaths are not increasing at the same rate as previous, which suggests the vaccine is reducing the symptoms and and impact in most cases.
So perhaps sometimes soon, there may be no fixture implications on having Covid in the squad. As someone else said, it may just become a player is ‘ill’ with Covid and they return to the team when they feel fit enough (just like they would have done in the past after sickness.)

apparently a Salford fan posted on the Wakefield forum yesterday that the club never had any intention of playing Wakefield then us on Monday.
It needs looking into
