I can never really get my head round why some place so much importance on the birthplace of players.
Personally I’m i couldn’t Caren less about where players are from. I want a successful team.

| We had local players under Agar - loads
Brought us nowt !
When’s the last time we generated a top class half back ???? When ?? Don’t say Horne please
Back to Kelly
I’ll say it now
Don’t resign
Too injury prone
Also that bang on the head has really affected him in my opinion. He’ll end up like Sid Domic
Get a young half back from where I don’t care
Preferable from the Academy

Kelly isn't injury prone, its a physical game and players will pick up knocks. Hes the best half we've had in years and our main attacking threat, don't you think if there was somebody capable in the academy they'd be in the squad this week? Get him signed up!

Good player, reminds me a bit of Craig Hall at a similar level, quick and has a good size about him. I don;t think it is much of a coincidence that Oakes scores loads of trys for the 19's when he ahs Buchanen as his centre.
I think him and Scott will take the role of Logan next season.

Paul Cooke - half back - totally argues against your point here

I never thought of that, so glad you mentioned it

I used to think your posts were level headed and well thought out.
However, if you consider Kelly as injury prone, I'd like to know the basis of this.
Also, the head knock Talanoa got a few years back was a bad one, yet he's out most effective back on the try scoring charts.
Its my opinion that half back s cannot simply be created. There has to be a high level of natural skill already there to be polished.

Yeah seen his highlights now on Twitter. Looks to have a good build for a centre and good pace so that is good. A lot was made of Scott at Bradford, but seems to have gone quiet, but that is sometimes a good thing

I am being very level headed here - this season has proven difficult for Albert to get on the field and we're not sure when he's back. To me the recent injuries make him injury prone and I am more concerned with the bang on his head, as I am with all concussions. They are totally devastating years later and I am also very concerned for Talanoa and his well being. NFL is my other major sporting interest and concussions there are at an all time high.
There's also so much eveidence to point towards players taking jabs ala Carlos at Widnes and the long term damaging effects of taking jabs. Didn't Phil Clarke talk about this last year ?
I think we would be taking a massive gamble with Albert and I don't want to be proved right next season if he stays.
As far as the half backs are concerned then I'm concerned.
However I have so much faith in youth. We may have a half back now aged 18.5yrs and could be ready in 1 years time and be 3x the player he is now. Young kids can develop so quickly between 18-21 and I just can't understand why we can't seem to produce one or even have one on the cusp of the squad.
Horne played at 16 - Jamie Shaul was laying bricks and playing for Skirlaugh and a year later he's at Wembley going the full length. Kids can also surprise you when given a chance. They don't know their limits until someone tells them.
SO I would let Albert go and nurture a half back from the Academy/fast track him or buy a younger promising player from Aussie or the lower leagues.

| I know it’s controversial for some but if we resign him then Im convinced it won’t work out anywhere near as good as many would hope
I wouldn’t sign him
However as I line in Melbourne for last 7 years I don’t get to any games and only see what’s on Sky
I’m not the best qualified to comment but just got a feeling on Kelly and the salary he commands

Jacob Miller? Jordan Rankin? It worked out so well last time. Kelly is one of the most talented players I've seen in my relatively short time of watching Hull FC and like you said, it would be madness to let him go to another SL side.
