We haven't got to the latter stages yet, but I'm not sure whether we're gonna peak for them either.

If he'd been ranting you and The Petition Kid would've been on here saying he's lost it and doesn't have the temperament.

| Mrs Barista already wrote the team and the coach off and resigned them to the middle 8s which started this thread.
she's being writing the team off as early as 20 odd minutes into a match clearly having no faith in the team or the coach pretty much every single game this season.
I've said no such thing, we will be in the top 8 and still have a shot at top 4 but as I've suggested and given reason why that I don't think LR is the coach to take us forward.
I mean at least I gave a reasonable explanation and a solution here and backed the team/coach for all the season so far, more so than the coffee lady.
clearly one forum member writing the coach and the team off virtually every game and then starting a thread stating we are going to be fighting it out against toulouse et al in the M8s is far worse than what I've written in terms of pessimism and nonsense and yet some of the cuddle crew can't handle the fact one of their own has outed herself in such a negative fashion toward the club as a whole??? it must really pain you to hear her negativity every game and read threads like this writing us off despite still being 4th and a chance to go third after Monday.
If you still think Radford is the coach to take us forward to better things then that's your opinion/way of thinking, I beleive not for the reasons I've stated as he will not change his stance, is not capable of changing how we play nor admit to the areas that he clearly cannot deal with effectively.
I hope he and the team can turn things around i really do but so much of what has happened so far this year tells me he simply is not capable of that and certainly not unless he has a fully fit squad of all his top players for 95% of the season.
'petition Kid', i love it i think i'm going to use that.

Well I have never been a great fan of your posts but as regards this one I think I should pretty much agree with with what you have posted.

| To rebalance a little
The tone of this thread and mid match doom comments are a bit of parody of similar extreme comments/threads over pretty much all of Radford's tenure, such as "Going backwards at an alarming rate", calling the coach a "steaming gap-toothed turd" and labelling those defending him and the club as blinkered apologists whose opinions and feelings on these points are essentially invalid.
That said the reality here is we have a very good squad and a coach who is a proven winner at playing and coaching level despite only short experience in the latter. But so do plenty of other teams. Wigan and Leeds have way more cash and better infrastructure. Cas and Salford have built incredibly well and are deservedly top. Warrington aren't disimilar to us, in fact probably favourites for a trophy 3 months ago, but are toiling. Super League is an incredibly hard competition, demanding different disciplines at different points of the year and yes that teams breaking into the top slice need some luck with injuries to do so because they don't have experience collectively of what's required to draw on. Given that, the preseason hyperbole/expectations of GF success by some were overblown. But similarly continually berating the coach for failing to look like winning the comp in the context that 11 other clubs, some with much greater resources than us, will do exactly that, just looks a bit spoilt.
To me the season comes in chunks. Firstly navigate to a safe position, i.e. Top 8 at the split. Have we done that yet? No. Are we in a bit of a slump? Er, yes. Have we got easier games coming up? Well no. We've played Widnes, Warrington and Leigh so far in return fixtures so all the top clubs ahead, Sneyd, Taylor, Fonua all out long term and all current Dream Teamers. Age catching up with the talismanic Ellis. Houghton not yet back in his form of last year. Talanoa barely played. Kelly carrying an injury. Minichiello being overplayed by necessity. So we're absolutely weaker at this point than last year, massively so, in a highly competitive league. We need to get over the line to the 8s. Anyone who thinks anything in this comp is a gimme is deluded. Hopefully we get the win in France that will go a long long way to securing safety. But nonetheless the challenges remain around doing anything in the Top 8, the second chunk, for the reasons above with the overlay of a lack of confidence currently. I personally think the current top 3,will make it, that Saints will make a charge and Wigan are, well, Wigan. This isn't defeatism or "writing off" the club, it's based on fact, injuries and direction of travel. Things can turn around quickly though, and I hope as much as anyone that they do. Obviously.

Top after regular season rounds.
Semifinal of the SL comp.
First ever Challenge Cup victory at Wembley.
Now maintaining them heights going into 2017 was gonna be a whole new ball game but I knew you were never gonna be far away as soon as it wasn't looking possible.

| Ridiculous thread really. I get that its a bit tongue in cheek and I also get that you should never take anything for granted, but I would rate our chances of missing the top 8 at around 0.01%.
Beat Catalans tomorrow and top 8 is guaranteed. It would mean that we would have to lose our last 7 and Catalans would have to win 6/7, or Huddersfield win 6/8. Thats not even factoring in all the other teams that have to overtake us aswell. Even if Catalans beat us they need to find another 4 wins. The likelyhood is that we have enough already. And fwiw I'm confident we will get a result tomorrow.
Top four will be trickier, but we are still placed well enough. Atm I think Cas are the only ones nailed on for top 4. Salford are going really well but as we continue to the business end I have doubts about their squad depth. If they are lucky with injuries then they will make it, but I can see them just running out of steam when it comes down to it. Leeds are hit and miss and only have a point more than us. Wakefield have been brilliant this year, but when push comes to shove I dont think they quite have to ability to make the four. Wigan usually find a way, but have alot of injuries as usual and arent finding ways to win this time. Saints are interesting. Have they genuinely turned a corner, or is this just a new coach effect that will see their standards slip again after a few weeks? Warrington are playing no better than us and imo are too far behind now.

Glad someone's done the maths.
I guess it means that Cas, Leeds and Salford have already qualified.
As referenced above our big challenge is that our players missing for long stretches aren't the likes of Thompson and Michaels, they're our top quartile. If we win on Monday I'll start another thread about sun loungers.

Don't be a plum, making personal attacks about my army career is well off base so i suggest you delete that.
Yup, that's all you're fit for making personal attacks, you're not capable of just sticking to making a response regarding the rugby/discussion you yet again show what nasty pice of work you are with respect to making personal attacks re my army career and thus I am reporting that to the mods, you're well out of line!
I haven't forgotten anything, so far it is a one off win in 3 years after taking us to the brink of relegation, that being with the best squad in SL that suffered barely any injuries compared to all the other top sides.
if you didn't notice we trailed off horrendously and we've had one decent 80 minute performance since as I've mentioned.
We have gone backwards in terms of peaks and troughs, this was something Radford stated he wanted to reduce the differential between, in fact it's got wider.
In terms of the youngsters coming through we are further back than we were under Gentle who bloodied youngsters left right and centre due to injury, Radford had the opportunity last year to blood youngsetrs and even had the pointer as to player fatigue in that Warrington Easter Monday game but failed to acknowledge it and we crumbled badly due to his mistake in that respect. The penny dropped far too late and aside from Fash who is looking like cementing a place in the 1st XVII of the youngsters this season or next?
he's still putting players into positions that aren't working, he still can't bring himself to learn from his mistakes nor admit them.
he has not brought the club forward with respect to mental fortitude, that we go into meltdown/panic mode far too regularly is there for all to see!
He has not brought the club/players forward with respect to discipline, nor having a strong leader in the side when Ellis is out.
he hasn't developed a plan B so hasn't brought us forward there, he hasn't brought us forward with respect to defence, we are still mickey poor all over the place with the same old mistakes time and again.
LR has had all the advantages none of his predecessors have had together all at the same time including an injury free season and yet it has brought us just one by the skin of our teeth win.
I do not think he can take us forward to improve overall from top to bottom so that we are going to win silverware regularly which is what bringing us forward would be right?

I can't be @rsed to respond to your endless drivel because your a full on bore.
Now get over to the other board where there's a list of posters waiting for a reply about your Manchester attack rhubarb.
I don't think you're playing with a full deck of cards to be honest.
Bye for now.

If you think Gentle was good with youngsters you are mistaken, he wanted to get rid of both Shaul and Lineham and replace them with average Aussies, it's only Radford that stopped him.
You can say what you like about Radfordbut the facts are he has achieved more than any Hull coach since Brian Smith, you take about a lucky win in the cup but we beat all the top 5 teams including a full strength Warrington team in the final.
He has also doing a great job with the youngsters, maybe they weren't ready for last season, you don't see these players in training every day, look how well the have done this year, he has really looked after them and bloodied, I bet more players have debuted with Radford than Gentle.
Look at the top 3 this season, they have had very few injuries to key players, just need to read Carvells tweet to see this, injuries and fitness are so key, just look at Wigan.
He has done well with recruitment helped by Tony and 3/4 signings have been good, Griffin has been disappointing but the others have done well.
We have been poor the last two games, but if we had held the ball better against Leigh, we would have won comfy, that's not Radfords fault.
There is no doubt we have progressed on and off the field under Radford, is he the perfect coach, certainly not, but I honestly believe he will turn us around.
You have to trust Pearson as he seed Marat what Radford does each day and if he had listen to fans (including me at times) we would be struggling side and wouldn't have had that day in August.
Let's me honest you will never change your mind on Radford no matter he does.

Wow. People call me a drama queen.
As for taking us backwards in gaps between best and worst, what was the score in Gentle's last game?
