| Quote: Mrs Barista "One of my favourite tweets was about Asotasi who did 2 10 min spells one game, a journo reckoning he'd been round that massive Tesco for his weekly shop in between he'd been off that long.'"
that Journalist was lying..... I genuinely timed him once as it became clear Smith Wouldn't drop him but played him as little as possible, he did two 8 minute stints.
I remember the Cup game against Leigh when Sims was mic'd up and Asotasi as you would expect played ok against lower league opposition but sims congratulated him like you would a big daft chubby schoolkid that had just played his first game and not broken anything....
he was captain of New zealand once...!!!

| Quote: Dave K. "So of the first teams squad we have Ellis, Kelly, mini, Michaels, Tomo and washbrook.
Kelly is a must, so is Mini, if Ellis feels he is up for another year then him also.
I'd look to keep only one of Washbrook or Thompson, and use their cap and Michaels to sign an impact forward.
Although with Naughton, Abdul coming back and a Kelly upgrade, I'm not sure how much we will have left.'"
I believe there is talk of increasing the sallary cap (I think talks are in April) so it may be good timing

| There's a rumour that George Williams is going to wire for 2018
IF true then Wigan would have a real wedge to spend. Kelly would be my 1st pick if I was any SL team looking at a half.
No gamble on an overseas settling and no English standouts available. Either way. Kelly needs tying up double quick fast

| If I were Kelly the Wigan option would obviously appeal, but Leeds maybe less so. Rumour of Widdop to Leeds though.

| If he decides to move on, i wouldn't blame him. Would be slightly disappointed as I'm not sure there were queues of clubs willing to take a risk with him. Hopefully something can be sorted before the anti-tampering deadline (assuming this still exists?).

All parties knew it was a risk hence the short term low cost heavily-caveated deal. Kelly may have fancied this to showcase what he can do. Wigan look to me to be on the brink of heavy dominance again - superb academy, big resources and therefore able to leverage salary cap increases - any player would be interested. I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than work for Shaun Wane personally but I'm not a RL player and he's effective.
Another rumour is that Danny Brough is out of Huddersfield and has many suitors, including some not that far away..

I see what you mean,I just thought/hoped that the club would have had a future deal in place,in the clubs favour, running alongside of this deal if things worked out.

| I'm loving Abert's performances so far; he's creative, unpredictable, looks to be in great shape and punches above his weight in defence.
I think we have to give Motu and Radders some credit on contract management here. I don't know any detail of Albo's contract but can imagine the kind conditions that might be in it based on his behaviour at other clubs. There's plenty of talk on this forum about him going to other clubs but why would he want to leave Hull FC ? It's not like he could say he'd go somewhere else to challenge for silverware. So there's no reason at all (apart from the cap of course) that he couldn't be offered an enhanced contract but still tied to whatever terms are in his existing deal.
I know he started like a train at Rovers but I think my performances might have starting slipping once I'd realised what I'd let myself in for at Craven Park. But with us getting the cup last year, being in the race until the very end of the season and looking tidy for this season, what would be the point of going to another SL club.

Money possibly? One thing to remember is our cap space will probably be getting eaten up with renewal upgrades as players such as Houghton, Watts and Shaul see their stock increase. There's a scenario here of course where Kelly is grateful to Motu, Radford and Hatton for giving him the opportunity, is enjoying life and settled and we agree an extension, but there's a balance to be had - 4 swallows don't make a summer reliabilitywise so given their form we should probably trust the coaching staff to make the right call.

possibility the cap will rise for next season so money could be available
