I could never actively want us to lose a game, but I am pretty indifferent about this result. Even if we win I just don't see how we are good enough to make the 8. A loss might be a good thing in the long run.'"
If that result came in at 9:50pm , I think that would be it for Radford regardless of Pearson's backing . I think & hope he'd walk.

| In my 37 years of supporting the club there have only really been 4 terrible coaches IMO, casey, walsh, agar and radford. I will probably carry on going to games this season as I've bought my pass but if radford is in charge next season then I won't buy another one until he is gone

I'm much the same. Thankfully attending is not an issue for me. Work dictates on that score.
The big issue we have on Friday is that because of the bleating by Salford we are on a hiding to nothing. Win like Castleford last week and it's a moral victory for Salford and will heap tons more pressure on AP and Radford. Get a massively convincing win and it will be seen as an expected result and noting to write home about. Lose and we will officially be THE laughing stock of the league.
It doesn't matter how many we have out, Salford have played their ace card and are massive underdogs. We simply can't win.
The other issue will be player complacency. To my mind one of our biggest issues over the past 9 years.
If the team think they've won before crossing the line we will be in for a torrid night.
It's really not going to be pretty, especially with a crowd of 8000 at best.

| Quote: Diablo1967 "For me, the Derby game showed what Radford is about.
If you cannot get a team fired up for a derby game, when we had at least 6 Hull born players, then you really are poor. There was no passion in that game at all, proven by the fact that normally, you see at least 2 or 3 fights, or an all-in battle. There were none.
Gentle knew and understood the passion and how the crowd react to fiery temperaments, the odd high-shot etc. The team then feed on it.
So Radford "works hard"? What about his ability, which is sadly absent.
That makes depressing reading for me and will do nothing to erode fans' skepticism.'"
Only just started reading this thread and a myth about how good Gentle was needs to be put straight . I used to speak to him on the golf course on occasion and one thing he confessed to me was he didn't know how to fire the team up against Rovers. To me he never came over as a confident guy who was in full control of things. I was told other stuff that I can't substantiate to back that up. I for one agreed that both him and bomber should go.
Particularly after sitting through yet another Wembley disappoint.
Now I'm afraid history is repeating it self with Radford. After being a supporter for 63 years I am now not looking forward to going to matches any more and very concerned about what is happening to our team and standing in the game. We are a joke

| I don't disagree that gentle wasn't good enough and had to go but pearson then had to appoint a coach he KNEW was better, not one he thought might be. The damage done will take years to work through at best and could put our future at risk at worst

Agree, had a choice to make, which is more enjoyable.
Creosoting the shed, or watching FC... decided to get the shed done.

| Just heard radford on sportstalk. Sounds very relaxed so I can't imagine he's under any immediate threat of being binned

If you can take 8 mins of radford , watch his press conference on hull fc tv, it's free so you don't have to waste anymore money. I'm pretty sure he's blaming Fridays predicted low attendance on Salford asking for a postponement! Anyway it's all pretty cringe worthy, enjoy

| Quote: fcandy "This all comes down to one decision for me, either I stop supporting the club I love or continue to go and support it despite the obvious issues that need addressing. If enough people decide to do the first option in protest of the current failings in coaching and player performance then longer term this actually makes getting to the place we all want the club to be more difficult (Cutting off your nose to spite your face). It may even contribute to the eventual demise of the club. That is something I can simply not do as I would rather have a failing club that could potentially be great one day than no club at all.
We have to accept that only one man's decision counts in reality, and although the large majority disagree with his stance on the coach, he has earned the right by way of investment to make those decisions. No one accept Adam knows what factors are in the mix when finalising those decisions and I suspect the financial burden of the club is now having a major influence on them. Our owner has invested a lot of money, always been open and honest with us, has accepted past mistakes and has always had the clubs best interest at heart. As a fan base we can expect little more when you think of all the factors working against him at present. I think he and therefore the team deserves our backing all things considered.'"
My position also. Tough times.

If you've got to `fire players up' for a derby, there's something wrong with the players!
Didn't Gentle come out on top each season he was here ?How did Agar do?
How's Radford doing? I think you're missing the point - most people wouldn't
of minded Gentle leaving if we appointed a better coach.
What Pearson did was sheer lunacy.

| Radford has had his day in the sun. Turned his back on fc as a kid and went on to achieve great things.
I don't blame him for our predicament. He was/is an average amateur coach and a very good union player/coach.
Our lack of a tried and tested coach comes from those who hold the purse strings. Sharp and gentle were given the rough end of the stick.
