| Shame that it's not worked out for Miller. There was genuine hope when he signed that he could be the answer to our number seven problem but it's just not happened for him.
He's had chances but unfortunately hasn't been up to it. I can barely think of a game when he's really shone for us. Widnes at home last season perhaps.
To blame Radford for Miller's failings is completely missing the point.

| I was on here at the beginning of the season lambasting Radford for not giving Miller a chance and telling everyone how wrong they were for writing him off. He then got that chance and sadly failed to show the talent I thought he had. In a salary cap sport value for money is paramount, keeping somebody on a hefty, 6-figure salary who is going to be 4th choice half (at best) makes no sense whatsoever.

| If miller were on the same value contract as naughton then he'd be worth keeping. As it is, he's on a pile of cash that isn't justified for what he brings to the table. Right decision to get rid but likely to have cost us in excess of 25 grand a game when he leaves

I aren't defending (B)radford, but miller is very poor in defence, & if teams send traffic at him & he gets run over all game, it is very hard for everyone involved around him, he isn't creative enough to be an exception, is he? Did he play FC around the park, or make more tries then he let defenders make him look like a lock gate? Would this ever change under any coach? Follow the rest of his career & then you can blame the landlord for not turning Miller into the next Danny Brough.

Ooh..I'm a leigh fan wandering around these boards and often visit the two hull forums for their vitality. Care to share more? For what it's worth I've only ever seen Miller on TV bit think he may have potential.

| If Miller is to make a top SL SH, he will have to improve his game massively. He has a decent running game and is enthusiastic, but his defence, kicking and passing isn't good enough. In fact I would say his long and short kicking game is appalling, can hardly remember him going a decent.
Anyway forget the HDM story he has gone, agreed a pay off before the Leeds game with AP( I told east hull fan and mild rover via PM about it)
His best mate at Hull said that he could anything he wanted to be, so he must show some skills in training, not sure why he hasn't done it on the pitch, maybe attitude?
Value for money a poor signing.

Rarely mentioned Dave but it's his biggest failing in a position where it's critical to be at the very least competent.

| Sooo, let's see.
21 year old lad shipped over as an emergency, played 14 games with 7 wins even with a still out of sorts Holdsworth alongside (whom though a good field kicker isn't talented otherwise), he has no-one else to turn to as we still don't have a 7 and missing our most potent strike force (Lineham/Crooks) for the last 6 of those games (I include Wembley even though Crooks did play)
Overall given the circumstances and his swift transition to come over to play not a bad record for a kid thrown in the deep end.
2014, clearly not flavour of the month from the start, his main connection (& family member with the club has been fired (for having the temerity to get us two top 6 places and a Wembley appearance no less).
He doesn't play in any of the first 6 games despite us being then comes in and we win handsomely against Salford, he's in a side that scores 36 points the next game (Salford in the CC) but our defence overall let's us down & we lose by 1 point, next game we win handsomely against Hudds, that team that were the LLT winners and finished 3rd this season. Narrow loss to Rovers then a standard win against the whipping boys London.
4 losses on the bounce (because they were all his fault of course) then a covering the cracks win against London then dropped and that's his Hull FC career over...
Do you know what, it stinks to high heaven, bullocks has the kid been given a chance, he's had 10 games..TEN. We've being dog turd all season long barring a couple of games (Hudds, Saints & maybe Widnes though they played their worst game ever apparently)
Radford had it in for him from the off and if you think all the blames lies at his door for the losses, well see how amazing we were when he didn't play before AND after. Yeah we won a couple of meaningless games against the dobbins and a Leeds side with play-offs already in sight. We won four out of those ten games with 2 x one point losses, even so our winning ratio with him in the side was better than without him..go figure eh? (Our friendlies don't count because they were a ing shambles!)
Some of the side had their places cemented despite being much worse which is just laughable, he's had nack all support, he's being effectively left on his own (aside from his missus of course) & cast aside and told 'you're out', you're never playing again.. off.
Show me another 21yr old half that's been left out in the cold at the start of the season, told to carry a side like ours mid season that has succeeded when you have a *'coach' like ours at the helm (*I hesitate to use the word as a true descriptor of Radford as he just isn't)
Yeah..and we wonder why no-one good wants to come to our club.
Thanks Windy, I hope things work out for you lad.

I agree with most of that!!
I have zero doubt that Jacob Miller will join a list of players that succeed and go on to much bigger and better things after Hull FC. He is a good player, the fact that he is on big money is not his fault...

Complete claptrap. Your insistance on blaming every failing at the club on Radford is pathetic.
Miller hasn't just had ten games, he's had twenty-four over two seasons and failed to shine. He has pace but his passing and kicking game is poor and he struggles in defence. In his ten games this season he try assists total was three.
His signing was a gamble that unfortunately didn't pay off.

| Given 10 games in a micturate poor side led by an even worse coach who couldn't ing wait to get rid (forced to play him) yet we had a better win ratio than when he wasn't playing..he never had a chance and Radford couldn't develop a case of the clap in a knocking shop full of Wigan prostitutes.

We won four games with Miller in the side although that included two against a club who only won once all season. That run also included Wigan and Wakefield at home which were two of our worst performances of the year. Even the most biased Hull fan must concede that the Huddersfield game at home was massively swung in our favour by the fixture list.
Not all Miller's fault of course, as I say he seems a good kid and tries hard but has been found wanting. He may eventually become a top SL or NRL player but I cannot see it.
