I think Miller will be much better for us after a pre season under his belt. A little more composure in both his passing & kicking will I feel see a marked improvement in his displays for us.
At least he's been one of the few to try and make things happen in an attacking sense and maybe a little too hard when other more senior players have been found wanting.'"
Exactly. He's been thrown in the deep end with a team who are inept in attack. He has obvious talent.
I sense another weird scapegoat, a la Westerman.

It's all well and good saying that but point us in the direction of realistic alternatives. Miller needs time and patience from the fans. We do not want another Seymour incident on our hands.

I'd say Jamie Carragher's made a good start to life as a pundit too and a lot are tipping him to be a manager one day. He lives and breathes football.

Horne will no doubt get the blame by some of the usual haters.

| Millers tried his best and doesn't stop. He's not helped by an ineffectual pack who can't find the floor and get a quick PTB. Watch the other teams and compare with ours. It Holdsworth who needs replacing, not Miller. The kid clearly has talent. Holdsworth shows up in 3 or 4 games.
We need a "Dobson" to take us around the park, and that ain't Holdsworth.

I agree totally how can you expect any Halfback to play on the back of a losing pack ???
We have not been agressive enough for years now
that is why we have brought in Paea ( and the project that is FEKA)
give the kid a chance after a full pre season
Looks a decent prospect to me and given a bit of confidence could turn out to be our Dobbo

| Jacob will be a good player the lad is settling in, Holdsworth is the biggest let down IMO he has no heart and is very incosistent.

I thnk he has heart.
Just don't think he's as good as was sold, or hoped, or believed he would be.
Miller is the way forward.
He needs looking after.

| So Miller can't be expected to play well behind a beaten pack, but Holdsworth can?

Probably why neither have set the world on fire.
Holdsworth is just bang average other than his boot (important factor I concede). We need a superior 6.
Miller has the potential to lead a team around the park in the future if he gets the breaks imo.

As second receiver he gets more time with the ball, Miller's under pressure straight away.

Well that would depend on the speed of pass to the second receiver and upon Miller always being first receiver and Holdsworth always being second. To lay all the blame at Holdsworth's door when they're both playing in similar positions ands in equally difficult circumstances seems to be a little like, er, what's that popular word on here? Oh, yeah, scapegoating.
If Radford can address our woeful play the ball speed in the off season, both players should be given a fair chance to show what they can do behind a pack that isn't everyone's bitch.

Exactly my thinking on our 2 overseas halfbacks ATM. Only one looks to be at least attempting to stand up and be counted, Holdsworth seems more willing to go into hiding when it's tough going.

I've noticed that will all teams but Wigan. Wigan always have there first man as O'Loughlin, Then the playmakers.

In a nutshell. Our no. 1 problem for the last 5 years or so. Sort it and add runners and our attack will transform.
