I don't know whether to laugh or cry at the amount of garbage spouted on here that within 3 pages and 2 threads becomes absolute gospel and a concrete basis for people to form definite and immoveable opinions from.
I have no idea whether this 'Club Hull' approach will work or not. I have no idea whether Radford was this weekend in Blackpool, down Prinny Ave, in secret talks with shadowy faction leaders from the playing squad or already mapping out some moves off the long right to left cut out pass with Cookie. What I would say is that Pearson if anything has taken a bolder and possibly more difficult decision to go down this new route than perhaps flying in another Aussie coach for two years of 'more of the same'. There is no doubt that appointing Radford is a far bigger gamble in my view but at the end of the day it's Pearson's gamble to take. Pearson has spent time with the squad in training, away at games, in France etc. and will have seen how the dynamics work. He will also have been wondering sat at Huddersfield exactly how much two years of 'advice' from two Aussies in McRae and Gentle had actually furthered the club since he took over.
So for me, could work, might not. It's the owner's call and £3.5 million earns him the right to make it. I hope it produces the best environment for our upcoming new breed to work in - they will certainly have the best facilities ever to do that. I hope everyone supports the gamble - which is what it is in my view - so that it has it's best chance of success. If it fails then we have to hope that at best Pearson is prepared to go back to the drawing board again. If he doesn't want to do that again, or if the support collapses, then the drawing board might be one of the few assets available to sell. I just hope the support doesn't collapse on the basis of unfounded rumour and general garbage being pedalled around as 'nailed on' truth.

DJ, Tickle, Miller and O'Meley.
2 of them were going to be leaving anyway, and one only came in June!

So then why have the young players been our best performers this season? The intimidation you speak of obviously hasn't worked. Either that or its just made up. If they wanted Gentle out that bad why did they play well enough to get to Wembley?

| Gentle by all accounts is a nice guy, but head coach he ain't! Pearson was sold a pup by Howes. Rovers were never in for Gentle but this rumour led Pearson to give Gentle a contract.
Personally I think Radford could do a job for you guys.

True, but what is to stop them help their drinking buddy get the top job.

I think you've mentioned a young player you know before so I won't quiz you to much.
Were it doesn't make sense is Ellis' role, if he had any. He's worked with Gentle for 4 years now and I'm presuming has more influence with the youngsters than some of the barely literate players we have.

I'm willing to give the new coaching set up a chance, but don't see why I should give them long.
I expect to see in an instant improvement , maybe not in terms of results, but definitely in terms of attitude/committment/effort/pride/passion.

| Just to add flame to the fire I heard earlier this season that Radford had approached Rovers for the position of coach if Sandercock was to leave. And once again from a very very good source of information. He also was reported to have indicated Gentle was the worst coach he had been involved with. So much for being a loyal member of staff at KC. But once again only hearsay.

Well the view of Gentle would be backed up by the rumors of what Andy Hay thought of Gentle and why he was asked to leave.

| I feel sorry for PG as he seems like a genuinely nice guy but two years after his very much welcomed appointment, we are a shambles. His recruitment was baffling to say the least and our performances were, on the whole, as bad as when Fubar was in charge.
However, if AP thinks that giving the job to a very limited ex-player who's only loyalties are to himself and the dobbins, then he is badly mistaken. How long before he's threatening to move to his beloved club for a couple of quid (again)?
I don't even want to think about having that other ex-player back at my club in any capacity whatsoever. I won't be renewing my pass and I'm pretty sure that the "Cooke factor" will ensure that many other fans won't either.
I'm very grateful for what AP has done for my club but I feel like he needs to give his head a bang.

| No matter what you think of the coach, the staff are there to support him TOTALLY. I hope they did that but human ambition is a terrible thing sometimes.
If they didn't support and help him then shame on them, sometimes you should be careful what you wish for.

And that's where the story got really far fetched. Miller who'd worked with Gentle before, walked out on a contract with an NRL team to work with Gentle again, said he was coming here primarily because of Gentle and even lived in Gentle's house when he arrived.
Hmmmm, not convinced.
