Clearly it had. That's why it was a drop out, the ingoal touch judges were a lot closer than any of us

| If you read the latest dentists diary, he also agrees the ball had stopped, maybe some people had been out in the sun too long

as far I am aware McRae only finalises the deal with the players/agents, Gentle has the final say on who we sign.

| THe problem with a large majority of FC fans these days is that theyve only known abject failure and mediocrity and are simply happy for a couple of decent wins a season as thats all theyve had for many years now. Most think that doing a completely average job at coach is acheiving something when it clearly isnt.

You don't really believe that, do you? I don't think I've seen a single poster state that they're happy with the way this season has panned out so far. We all crave success - demand it, even - but it won't happen immediately. Leeds have dominated this sport for a good few years, and they've done so by building the core of their side around their own academy players and adding a few quality signings from overseas. Wigan are doing a similar thing now, as well. Our youth structures have been badly neglected for several years and it will take time to rectify that. We've already seen some improvement in this area since Gentle arrived, and hopefully that will continue.
We can be dissatisfied with how things are panning out at the moment whilst also feeling that it's too early to think about showing Gentle the door. There's a whole spectrum of difference between this and blindly 'accepting mediocrity'.

Why shouldn't Pearson employ him to oversee things? He has no input on team selection and, as far as I'm aware, doesn't decide which players we will sign. If there are problems on the field, I don't think the blame can be laid at McRae's door.'"
I agree. Gentle has been given a lot of credit for bringing players through from the youth system (and rightly so), but for me it seems more than coincidental that McRae is back and this area is looking the best it has since he was last here. I think he'll have had input in this area too, and deserves a share of the credit.

| Not one of our better seasons granted, but we are still in the cup and are still in the top 8.
Beginning of the season most fans expected top 6 and a good cup run. We can still make top 6 and our cup run could well continue after Saturday.
I will wait till the season is truly over before writing it off.

Absolutely. The last time we had more than one young player every few years coming through was when McRae was in charge.

Totally agree. McD might be daft but he clearly thought he was OK to do what he did and the interpretation has gone against him. Needs a lot of clarification.

So, if I don't agree with the dentists diary I must be wrong??
I had a perfect view of the situation. The ball was still moving. The official (who didnt have much to do all day) got the one decision he had to make wrong.

Yep, spot on. The Horne etc generation was his, and now we finally have some more coming through with him here again. How many did we see in the interim who actually 'made it' rather than just played a handful of games?
Houghton
Briscoe
Lee
Washbrook
Any I've missed, is that really it?

your all deliberating about whether the ball was still moving and it makes no difference! - it was a drop out because he was straddling the ingoal area and was the last player to touch it before it went dead. got confused with the rule from kick off restart from half way.
rules state
"Should a kick be made dead by a defending player straddling the dead ball line or touch in-goal line, play will restart with a goal line drop-out."
so mr mild mannered janitor with the perfect view.....
ref got that one spot on!
