It doesnt matter what they do to the game it will never move on until there is a major root and branch overhaul of the people in power at Red Hall.'"
You'd have to replace most of the SL club chairmen as well since they get to vote on every single major development.
I'm not saying the RFL don't need a shake up, but they do regularly get blamed for stuff that's actually the product of the combined club chairmen.

That's pretty much exactly what I was about to post. Things like the changes to youth development and the sponsorship deal last season were voted for by the Super League clubs and the RFL get the blame when they go wrong. According to Kris Radlinski the RFL ran a best practice seminar in Salford a few weeks ago, Salford, Wigan, Warrington, Saints, Leeds and Hull were the only teams who bothered to turn up and learn from their peers; the clubs really don't help themselves a lot of the time.
This is obviously poor that no one knows when the draw will be made but there are bigger problems with the game than this.

| The word on Twitter is that it'll take place 3:30pm today, but looking at the way the RFL have handled the CC up to now, I can't see it happening any time soon.

What exactly is it the RFL have done wrong? The early rounds were done via Twitter, and the last two have been broadcast on National Radio. Unless you're blaming the RFL for the BBC messing up the last round?

Well surely it's the people who run the RFL that decide when (and I suppose, who) the CC gets broadcast on the radio. The draw for for the fifth round was slotted inbetween two programmes on 5 Live, and wasn't exactly done very professionally.
I'm not blaming the RFL for Richard Bacon's disrespect for the CC, but the point about them being the reason why rugby league struggles commercially still stands. They could at least put more effort into it.
I'd just like to see the draw taken place somewhere where it will get the respect it deserves, or even on TV.
The RFL are the ones who can organise this, that's my problem.

My point is the RFL are the Governing body and as such are the Guardians of the sport and as such are responsible for the mess. No problem giving the SL Chairman a say but not of control on certain matters otherwise it just becomes a mess as it is now, too many chiefs and not enough Indians as the saying goes.

Presumably they asked 5Live to broadcast the draw at the most appropriate time, which they sort of did, the problem was the presenter was an uneducated moron - did he ever accept Rovers' offer of going to the game?
I'm not sure on the effort, I think they are really trying but when the clubs are messing up like they are then there are bigger problems, like if they'd accepted Betfair's offer last year we'd be halfway through a contract with Betfair paying 850k a year, rather than sponsor less. The RFL have the blame for that, but the simple fact is that with hindsight the clubs made the wrong decision. (I was behind the deal with Stobart tbh, it seemed a good offer on the face of it but once the details were revealed it turned out it wasn't very good at all.)

You know that this isnt the BBC's fault dont you? They did broadcast a shoddy draw last time round, but this is all down to the RFL being inept

| Local BBC Radio covers all the games.
The draw should have been after one of yesterdays games at HKR, Warrington or Workington.

then there may have been the risk of putting the wrong balls in the freezer and the draw being all to cock.
