Nobody is more frustrated than me but we need to put this season into context. We beat Bulls, drew away at Saints, lost to last seasons grand finalists and had one shocker against Widnes. Disappointing yes, but its not the end of the world. We've another 22 rounds to go and I'm confident we'll be in the shake up at the end of the season.

| Quote: berro's best mate "to put it in context, as a team who spends the full cap (fc), can you name another team who warrants getting beat in the second round of play-off matches a good season other than us??? i cant....'"
Keeping it in context, the teams that spend to the full cap have better players in key positions (Sinfield/McGuire/Burrow/Myler/Ratchford/Briers/Brough/Lomax/Monaghan). And some who don't spend to the full cap do as well - including our near neighbours who have a better scrum half than us for example, as do the team we are playing tonight. Until we strengthen those areas - which we tried and mostly failed to do recently - we wont beat the teams with better players in these key areas. We improved last year but I doubt we can improve again this unless our better players stay more or less 100% fit between now and the end of the season. Holdsworth is obviously a key player for us, moreso than Ellis, and when he doesn't play there's no one else to do the job he does.
We've not had a good start although the defeat to Widnes was the only real catastrophe - and catastrophe it was. There's still 22 games to play, just to add another bit of context.

Maybe they want us to get Mick Potter's brother Harry.

Reality check Hessle Roader. We were completely dominated by Leeds, were OK against Bradford, couldn’t kill a game off a game against Saints with 8 missed attacking opportunities in last 10mins. Again completely out classed by Warrington despite them missing there three best players. Oh and then we played Widnes and looked like a bad Championship one side. The facts show we are nowhere near as good as the coach and players think we are or should be. The problems are so obvious but yet nobody wants to admit them.
The coach has made a poor call with going for light “mobile” forwards that get dominated every game. We don’t have the skill in the backs to pull this game plan off and Jay Pitts and Rich Whiting and Paul Johnson don’t cut the mustard as props simple as. We have an obsession with KY and RH contract extensions despite them being very average SL players, just because they are from Hull. Recruitment of Joe Arundel on a 4 year deal looks extremely poor business to me. Turner is light years ahead. For me Manu has more of a positive impact on winning a game than Ellis would have been even if fit! Sam Moa or Paul Johnson, enough said. We also have TB who looks like he can’t be d at all and is terrible under the high bomb with KY. We won’t make the playoffs this year it’s as simple as that.

That's the least realistic 'reality check' I've ever seen.

You beat me to it. Some of the posters on here are real merchants of doom. We're 5 matches into 27. If we look the same after 10 then they may have a point, but for now let PG and the boys get on with it.

What do you disagree with then? Sarcastic replies are easy but you obviously feel all is ok at the club?

We have the same players making the same mistakes time after time season after season. Even our coach admits that. What have you seen that makes you feel we are going to win something this year then?

Here's my 'reality check' reply to your post just listing main thoughts ..
"OK against Bradford" - is an understatement we totally dominated the team that beat Hudds last week.
"Completely outclassed by Warrington" - is an over-statement although we were deservedly beaten it was a 15 minute spell that did for us.
"forwards that get dominated every game" - yet weren't dominated at all by Bradford or Saints plus see above for Wire. Neither were they dominated at Widnes - Hull's 1-7 positions lost that game IMO.
"KY and RH contract extensions" - I agree with to a great extent - we should have strengthened these positions a long time ago.
"Joe Arundel on a 4 year deal looks extremely poor business" - looks to have no confidence in his injured shoulder to me at least I hope it's that that is affecting his tackling to the extent it is. More games for York required.
Others - Manu wanted to leave despite being offered a contract as did Moa. Slagging Tom Briscoe off for "not being d" is cheap and total garbage - in my opinion of course. Oh and Ellis hasn't played yet by the way.

At the end of the day the league table doesn't lie. Looks like most people are content with how we are going. Good luck with that.

Nobody is content with it obviously. We all want to see our team up near the top and challenging for trophies. What we are saying is its far too early in the season to be writing off our chances. As others have pointed out elsewhere, we've had bad starts before and finished the season in a good position. A little faith in our players and coach wouldn't go amiss with some people.
