Thank fook you aren't the coach, one of the best halfbacks in the league, improved massivley on and off the field. Just the type of player we need to take us to the next level IMO.
Can't see it happening as Hudds woudn't just release him and it would require a hefty fee.

Sorry, but this is nonsense. For a start he [iwanted[/i to leave and was causing all sorts of problems in the camp. He was a poor trainer to say the least and by his own admission was unfit due to being a heavy smoker. He also wasn't all that good back then and hindsight is always 20/20.
It was the right decision at the time.

Spot on. It was the right thing at the time. It's not as if he left Hull for Huddersfield & started to become the player he is now. He was at Cas & Wakey first before he ended up at Huddersfield. It's only the last season or two that he's shown the form he has recently.
The fact we'd be delighted to see him back just indicates the lack of half back talent available.

Correct. The over-reliance on overseas half backs in the competition over the years means we're all shafted as they can command huge money in the NRL, hence the scramble for Matty Smith. In that context, Brough will be a target for a lot of teams.

| As others have said at the time Brough had to leave for the sake of the team and himself.
I can't see it but wonder if Jamie Ellis will go down the same route as Brough.

Plus in all honesty I doubt anybody saw the level of improvement he had in him whilst he was playing for us.
It would be like us releasing Jamie Ellis then in 2/3 seasons he becomes as good as Brough.

| I can see this hudds team disappearing into oblivion in the next couple of yearsin teh way we did post brian smith. brown seems to have a knack of finding unheard of palyers and getting them to work well as a unit and perform above themselves. I doubt that his successor will have the same ability. Likewise, I doubt that many of the players would go elsewhere and perform as well as they do as part of that hudds unit. Not sure brough and seymour is that great a combination TBH

| Which British player are playing 7 at their clubs?
Bradford Jeffries
Castleford Orr
Huddersfield Brough
Hull Seymour
Hull KR Dobson
Leeds Maguire
London Gower
Salford Smith
St Helens Lomax
Wakefield Smith
Warrington Myley/O'Brien
Widnes Hanbury
Wigan Leuluia
You reap what you sow, could be good news that we can't sign numerous overseas players.

| How much cap do we have spare?
Out
mckinnon
o'meley
moa
manu
turner
sharp?
martin
aspinwall?
In
ellis
arundell
I'd say ellis maybe on what manu and moa were on between them and arundell roughly equivalent to turner. leaves us with some to play with but probably not as much as we need. horne is taking up too much cap and not giving enough value IMO

Will signing Ellis and Arundel mean we get the full 100k international allowance?

Not sure how it works. Didn't they need to be homegrown?

| I thought not all Hornes wage counted against the cap as he had been here more than 10 years ?

But we have Yeaman qualifying for that now, so it is back to a situation where we could save his whole wage from the cap.
