Quote: ComeOnYouUll "Not quite the same though is it? The trouble at Warrington made the press. There had been no reports of the incidents at the KC until Hull issued their statement. I was in the South Stand and was unaware of any trouble until yesterday, same as most posters on here.

Rovers could easily have issued a brief statement by now saying that investigations were underway and that they would co-operate with the authorities. To not do so could give the impression of the club hoping the story goes away.'"

Hey I'm with you on this - just pointing out that Hull had 12 days to investigate and comment on this issue.
Rovers are obviously aware of this and hopefully going to do something about it.
But seeing as this is Rovers and going on past incidents, I doubt there will be any comment/statement made within the next week.

Just at least give us a chance to do nothing, before comparing yours and our yet to come 'investigation/comment'

What does this mean? That Rovers have had 78 weeks to act and comment and done neither, then?

Tell you what, the other forums must be having a laugh at both our expenses. Cant wait till we are bitching about whether your challange cup victory is better than our grand final win or visa versa. Who gives a damn whether we have the most brain dead followers! come on people we are beating each other up for no positive purpose.

Sorry for confusing you Mrs Barista, that was not my intention. I suppose I should have replied directly to you.
My 78 week jibe had no bearing to my reply to 'ComeOnYouHull' - as doesn't 'lightergate' specifically to this incident.
Just because nothing came from us then, doesn't automatically mean nothing will come from us on this incident now.

As said, just give us an equal chance to do nothing before people start comparing Hull's statement/outcome - to our 'as yet to be made statement/action' etc.

Look, cockle, the point is this. FC had an unsavoury incident which no one was aware of. The club have come out with a suitably toned article, they didn't need to, but they did. It shows that the new regime area being proactive in dealing with issues and being transparent about them. A Rovers fan starts a thread with a suitably inflammatory title, "Mindless idiots" on here. We're just pointing out that the 15 ejections required last weekend and associated press coverage of a rather more serious incident at Warrington has elicited neither comment nor condemnation by Rovers. Indeed, I think Rob Crossland, vice chairman, initially tweeted on the day when challenged about their behaviour "I'm a big fan of the fans" which was then deleted. The last incident of this magnitude was at the end of 2010 when the Wigan team got pelted with lighters etc. Can't remember any commentary on that by Rovers to articulate disapproval and/or action, but as said, if you want to take the moral highground, perhaps you could share.

The reality is that both sides have idiots following them. There seems to be more evidence at present that Hull FC are willing to deal the issue.

FC-KR banter/bitching knows no bounds.
Yet, when 'outsiders' dish Hull as a place/people - we'll stand as one and repel them.
Before then recommencing hostilities over how bad one side of the city is.
That's just Hull

Come on, you've had 78 weeks, haven't you? That's more than 12 days. Pick and choose incidents to rate Rovers' response on if you like, it's the same regime at the end of the day.

As usual there'll be some judicious timing of any negative statement. Wait until you've slammed 70 past Widnes tomorrow. icon_wink.gif

I'm willing to bet that the lightergate statement is still sitting on Mike Smith's desk under Willie Mason's visa
Sandra's Headlingley email is also probably there but he's used that to draw up the new south stand project.

I'm confused, have we established that Pearson has the biggest balls or Hudgell?

Seriously, I saw more mature discussion at my secondary school.

Quote: MrPhilb "

So the children who committed this revolting act were drunk to boot, you silly little man?

This is a warning shot across the bows by the club to tell parents to be responsible for and accountable for the actions of their little darlings whilst in the KC. And quite right too. If more parents gave their children strict guidelines and boundaries and punished them accordingly when breached, society would be filled with the sort of well-balanced adult we uniformly witnessed in Britain 40 years ago and still see in Europe.

Instead, a couple of pc generations on, we are the inheritors of the lawless mindless types we see more and more today who simply have no idea of what constitutes acceptable behaviour drunk or otherwise. The pie and lighter throwers would be an example, as would Andy who took the law into his own hands and smacked innocent people as a result. The Galpharm morons are amother obvious example.

'The one constant' and the fact that you created this thread, called it 'Mindless idiots' and were, in fact, still posting on page 5 of the same thread after it had been pointed out on page 2 that the culprits were aged about ten, suggests otherwise.

In fact, alcohol is not 'the one constant' as is illustrated by this case. It's a common catalyst, but society's shortcomings with respect to the education and disciplining of our children as to what are the basic rights and wrongs of behaviour is the constant factor, I believe.
