| Quote: Smiggs "This team needs a major clear out, not a bit of tinkering that some seem to thing is needed. At least half the squad are simply not good enough to play in a top 4 side.'"
Not arguing that there's certainly some deadwood that needs cutting out, but most Wigan fans would have said the same thing a couple of years back.

| Some boring old rubbish.....
Quote: Immigration Rules "Refusal of leave to remain, variation of leave to enter or remain or curtailment of leave
322. In addition to the grounds for refusal of extension of stay set out in Parts 2-8 of these Rules, the following provisions apply in relation to the refusal of an application for leave to remain, variation of leave to enter or remain or, where appropriate, the curtailment of leave
...but nothing in there says he will be refused a transfer of his visa in the UK just because of a conviction, and it they tried to use part 5, I'd certainly argue that by readmitting him when he came back from Oz with a conviction, the decision has been taken that his conduct is not an issue.
If the move story is all made up then this is irrelevant, but if he does want to move clubs while in the UK, he won't have a problem as long as he declares the conviction on the application.

| If you think a better coach could have got us three more wins then we have a squad capable of a top four finish.
We've signed 5 players as well.

wigan had come within a game of the GF 2 years running and had a crop of top quality young players breaking through before maguire took over

| Quote: Marfa Manu "I spoke to Wolfie this morning, he confirmed what Chase told him and others, he said it was not a wind up ?'"
He just smiled at Wolfie, he told another fan it was a done deal. He was also hinting to Leeds fans after the game?

Fair point. I do believe PG will get a lot more out of the existing players though.

| Quote: Jake the Peg "Criminal record'"
What you have just suggested is completely illegal under Civil law and would be easily contested, regardless of any status / visa issues. Anything that basically forces somebody to work at a particular company is unenforcable. Still doesn't stop people putting these clauses into contracts etc.
Back on subject.
Add my voice. Thank you to Washbrook and Phelps. Truly deserved a better way to be told than that.

| Everyone seems happy to accept Phelp's version of events at face value. Not sure why?
