Quote: Trojan Horse "On the flip side he has beaten the sides you should expect to beat with a high percentage.

The tactics looked ok, the majority of trys were down to indiscipline, dropped ball and dropping off tackles. That is more down to the players. If there were massive gaps early on that Leeds walked through untouched then that is a poor game plan. There wasn't and as the game went on the players heads went down and the game plan deteriorated somewhat. And the players on the field lost heart.

If players can't motivate themselves in a playoff game on self pride and for the fans I hardly see how the vouch can be responsible for instilling that in players. It should come from within.'"

Bless. Keep clutching at those straws.

Precisely how many teams should Wakey be 'expecting to beat' next season?

After Widnes I'm struggling...

Quote: Jake the Peg "Typical agar performance. They looked completely unprepared for the game and I'm unsure if it's the coaches or players faults that seasoned pros can't pass'"

I wasn't embarrassed or suprised. The game panned out EXACTLY as i expected it to and was a perfect trademark of Agar's reign,an absolute epitomy of what he has made us. I take no pleasure in saying it either as i'd always hoped he'd succeed. Imagine how depressed we'd all be if he was staying. icon_razz.gifRAY:

Must admit me and the Mrs joined in with the 10, 9, countdown to signal the end of his reign...

It was painful to watch yesterday, but i kind of expected as much, the only good thing for me was that it signalled the end of Agar.
First time in a while I actually feel any sort of confidence about what lays ahead. The club are finally heading in the right direction.

I've said the same all season about our half times. On Sunday they weren't even being spoken to, simply milling around.

I reckon some of our players are in for a good kick up the jacksy when Gentle takes over.Maguire,Smith,Brown etc,all aussies, always seem to take the players to task if things are'nt going the way it should.

I think it has been said before by a coach, but they only really get 2-3 minutes to talk to the players in the 'sheds' at half time, the other is treatment etc - so in fairness our half time talk could have finished, and he left the players to think about what their part of the game plan was.

You're taking the p1$$ right?

Agar shows no emotion at all, just a droning fool! He couldn't inspire me to get out of bed. Oh do i feel for the Wakey fans, still it will make me laugh him standing in the Butlins portacabins at Belle Vue icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif

Game plan was meant tongue in cheek yes - however, the statement was correct in that coaches do not get long to talk to the players

For me one of the regular bones of contention during Agars tenure as Head Coach has been that very rarely does the team ever really 'look up for a game' rather more like too relaxed. It maybe the players but ultimately when it happens on a regular basis the Coach should sort it, which begs the question about the team preparation for games and the old comment of been going great in training but not taking into games etc??

I'm just glad the old regime is now consigned to the history books and we can look forward to a new era with a coach that will hopefully get the best out of the players he has at his disposal.

On the subject of body language etc, one thing I thought was a disappointing sign was the seeming lack of concern for Whiting from his teammates. He was obviously in a bad way, but the most he got was 2 or 3 little pats on the back and everyone just walking away. To say we have been told about how together this group of players are it didn't really look like it.
