| A top Aussie would be nice, but I wouldn't be at all disappointed with Nobby for 2 or 3 years. He turned Wigan around and got the best out of a fairly poor Crusaders side when he was there.

Not sure. When he left Saints he said it was so he could put down roots and let his children have a settled upbringing.
He probably didn't bank on being sacked by Parramatta after a couple of years, though, and you'd think he'd want to be back in the game.

That's an interesting point actually.
The previous regime never advertised the coaching job. McRae came from Gateshead, Kear was promoted, Sharp was appointed (after McNamara turned us down) and then Agar was promoted within days of Sharp's firing.
Not sure when we last advertised a coaching position. Sigsworth or Walsh?
If the club advertised I reckon we'd get some major applicants.

Indeed, a positive of Pearson (supposedly) not knowing much about the game, no pre-conceived ideas of who should be our next coach, take it to the open market and see who is available/interested, also wont be scared of paying a decent rate, nor will he want any influence over the day to day team management.

| For a club in our position with fans who have had to watch utter tripe for the last three years i think getting an unproven aussie is a big risk because if it doesnt work then were even further behind and it wouldnt take a lot for frustraion to start coming out again.
For me it has to be Noble but we give him free reign to put in his own structures from the ground up, a full backroom team of his choice and give him three years to win a trophy. He's the only man who id trust to stay and complete the job rather than some aussie who'll use us a stepping stone to greater things.

| I know a few say that the problem with having an Aussie coach, is that they only stay for a couple of years. Saints seem to have managed this quite well, and the reason is that of the clubs ethos.

| Has Agar gone and I've missed it? I'll be amazed if he doesn't see out the season. I would hope we are actively looking for a new coach for next season while Agar sees out the rest of this season. Unless we can bring in the right man straight away I see nothing to be gained from sacking Agar right now.

I think Agar will see out the season, but I see the advantages for getting rid now.
It will show intent. Stop the crowds dropping even further, and may even add a few more bums on seats.
The last few games will not be about Agar saving his own neck, and a few youngsters might get some experience before the season is out.

To an extent I have to agree that getting rid now will show Pearsons intent to be make Hull FC serious contenders for next season. Lets be honest is it going to make much difference if Agar is not coaching the team in the end of season run in? On what we have seen in the last few season i doubt we'd miss much if anything. Problem is the fans are growing restless once again and the casual fans are been lost aswel as some long standing fans now as patience has finally worm out and peopel have simply had enough.
Agar had the perfect opportunity to shine yesterday but yet again failed miserably and was out coached by his opposite number.

He's also been quoted as being a leading applicant for the Cas job, so he must be actively seeking empoyment and prepared to return to the UK..

| Quote: B0NES "Anderson , Taylor , Price..'" Price has already got the Dragons job for next year.
I personally would like to see us push for Rick Stone as the guy is getting demoted to assistant for Bennett so you imagine he would want to be a head coach and he is doing a good job with the Knights despite their massive injury list and the fact they were in turmoil when Smith walked out on them.
