Quote: number 6 "anyone who says that was a weak saints team needs their heads testing, that was still a strong line up they put out!

as for ganson, 50/50 call for the penalty on first viewing, but after seeing numerous replays, it was a tough call against us, agree ganson should'nt referee saints game, makes our sport look even more amatuerish!

saying that when we let balls bounce numerous times, you're asking for trouble and we got it!'"

Sorry but if we have aspirations of being anywhere near the top 4 we should be able to finish a team off who are literally relying on the u20's to fill the squad. We used those self same injuries as an excuse for not competing in 2008/2009 and to a point in 2010. Yet when Saints have those injuries it is a different kettle of fish.

Quote: SaintsFan "I'm glad you think so. Seven of our players out there were 21 and under, and Nathan Ashe was on his first grade debut, having been plucked out of the u20s for this game. For us, that was a weakened side because of the number of inexperienced players we had playing at one go. '"

Sure it was a weakened side but hardly a rubbish one was it ? You still managed to get a lot of internationals out onto the pitch!

Quote: SaintsFan "However, blaming Steve Ganson for the result is silly. Your team had an 18 point lead at halftime. They should have retained it. But they didn't. That wasn't Gansons fault. I don't think we had a single decision in our favour in the first half did we? '"

I've not blamed him for the result, it was our own fault because we didn't defend a couple of kicks well enough and let Saints have a ten minute purple patch in which you punished us.

Quote: SaintsFan "Good job Foster missed one of his kicks. Had he not done so, and with that belting penalty kick, we would have won. I think that's astounding. I wasn't expecting us to get anywhere near you today.'"

You obviously have not watched Hull FC play this season or for the matter the last three seasons. We play some of the most boring Rugby ever and are not exactly the brightest of teams about, I'm so shocked that you were even worried about the result ! We haven't scored 50+ points in over five seasons so why anyone would think we would blow you off the park is beyond me. Even Wakefield have scored 50 in a game this season and they even beat us at the KC quite comfortably.

Every team has injuries, its not like it was Hull's first choice line up either. We had Long and Phelps out which whilst it may not be an injury list of 7 or 8 players its in two pivotal positions.

Maybe that is because they are not afraid to try youngsters when players are injured. Anybody who thinks that Saints were not well under strength must be deluded. Yes they still had good players out there but strangely we had internationals playing for us in 08/09 but the excuses back then were that we were missing too many "Influential" players.

The only positive we can take from today is that we did not lose.

Not at all, because in the first half i was harbouring thoughts that maybe Agar had actually turned a corner. Then he revert to type by playing the defensive game in the 2nd half.

All credit to the Saints youngsters. They showed real promise. Stuck to the coaches game plan second half and came away with a point.

Forget the referee, that was an excellent game today and a draw was the right result.

We scored some outstanding tries and Saints comeback inspired by James Robey matched ours of last season.

Disappointed that our pack had no 'go forward' in the second half and we were far too indecisive against their speculative kicks .

The last 3 games have re-ignited our season.

I don't think we had a choice in that to be honest with you. Saints dominated the ruck and got over the advantage line with ease, we hardly had any ball in the first 25 minutes of the second half, so we had no choice but to defend IMO.

We didn't deal well enough with a few kicks and soon found ourselves on the back foot. IMO the game plan didn't change just that the momentum went Saints way and we found ourselves on the back foot rather then choosing to be on it.

Agree to disagree on this one. Everyone has different views of a game and ours obviously don;t match icon_smile.gif Why we let a team with so many first choice players out dominate the 2nd half so much is a mystery.

Armstrong played a couple of games last season. This season he's been on dual reg with Leigh and only got brought back last week due to our injuries.

Eastmond, well let's not talk about that, we all know what happens. Suffice to say, when he has played for us, our own fans boo him.

Foster, yes. He's very good, not denying that ( if only I was 20 years younger <sigh>icon_wink.gif.

Wilkin. Also very good but in his own post match interview 'never a 6'

I never meant any intent when I said we had a lot of kids out. I said our forwards and second row were first teamers/internationals, call them what you will.

But I still say our kids came very good, especially Ashe, who was only given a shirt number two days ago.

Thought some decisions either way were dodgy, but half the refs are aligned with one team or another so don't think that can be an excuse either.

If Hull had Longy uninjured think it might have been different! You would almost definitely have had a drop goal!

Oh and PS: Wire Wonder is a very very bad troll who apparently spends all his/her spare time trying to think up inflammatory comments to rouse everyone. Fun to answer back but pointless icon_smile.gif

Quote: pmarrow "Get over yourselves, like your the ones who get injuries....

You still had plenty of experience out there and lots of internationals, so I don't buy into all this we had a poor team out there because you didn't.'"

It wasn't a poor team, but it was well short of their best team.
