I have to disagree about him playing poorly and hes made errors in almost every game iv seen this year...i dont get all this scapegoat stuff aswell...there has been threads about how poor other players have been including dowes, horne, long, lauaki etc...

Sharp is an easy target for criticism at Hull because a) he's new, b) he's young, c) he's a winger. Plenty of players have made mistakes, but Sharp has consistently been at the brunt of it when a lot is not solely down to him.

Longs not young, new or a winger but hes had a fair few critics on this board...it feels as though some on here are being abit protective over sharp for some reason....who has ever said that us being poor is all solely down to him?? I think youl find alot of fans say that would be mr agar.

He was new to the club when he got his stick, which has been ongoing until now.

Some have talked about our comparatively weak right side defence on here as if it were all Sharp's fault.

I know im going around in circles but the point im making is like iv previously stated hes not the only one to get stick on here...dowes,horne,long,lauaki to name a few.....he certainly isnt being made a scapegoat by me and when it comes to me slating players im the first that hopes im proved wrong but up to now i am underwhelmed by will sharp.

Another cretin thinks the 'you couldn't do any better line' is worth adopting as their own.

If the main criteria for discussing/debating anything was 'could you do better yourself?', then 90% of the conversation in the world wouldn't take place.

The fact you don't realise that singles you out as a real halfwit.

Ok, sorry for calling him a halfwit, however accurate it may be.

Seriously though, what goes through people's heads to come on a discussion forum and start saying 'oh well could you do any better?'.

Quote: PAUL M "He has made one or two errors, the winning try at Wigan he was at fault for and he dropped an easy kick against Cas that led to a try. The problem is fans keep thinking he is out of position but he is iften left out on a limb by Whiting and the defenders inside him. He takes the ball up often and well and when he's had scoring chances he has taken them.'"

Some people say that Whiting reads the game better than anyone in the team.It certainly does'nt look like it when he is leaving his winger exposed.

Was thinking that yesterday actually but didn't want to say anything for fear of Whiting related repercussions. I thought back to 2005 when Blacklock got loads of stick, who was his centre for most of the season. icon_wink.gif

FWIW Whiting is probably hung out to dry by Tickle inside of him who in turn is hung out to dry by Horne or Long inside of him. The Blame will ultimately stop with the hooker in the middle. icon_lol.gif

Maybe Whitings best posiution is a ball handling back row forward like Peter Sharp tried turning him into after all icon_eek.gif

Quote: Sebasteeno "Maybe Whitings best posiution is a ball handling back row forward like Peter Sharp tried turning him into after all Amen! Anyone with eyes can tell that Rich Whiting is not a centre. The only position where he'll flourish is at 13. He'll do a job to the best of his ability and pace where ever he plays but it's looking increasingly that he'll never get the chance in his proper position. I think he's had a rough deal at FC , he always seems to be scrambling to get a contract for one year but does everything he's asked to do without sulking regardless of how it affects him. Compare the way he's treated with some others.
