Maybe we've just agreed to take him off their hands, allowing them to get rid without compo and Gleeson to get a club for the rest of the season (IF they are going to sack him!)

I remember Agar coming out in Monday's RL press before we signed Westerman denying we were interested in him, so I try and take what I read with a pinch of salt.
I've got mixed feelings about this...on a positive side the club needs a lift and there is no doubt we could do with a specialist centre down our right side, IMO he will help Sharp out too...but then like people say after Tansey's departure we may look desperate and abit of a joke.

No worse than Warrington signing the dog lover.

I suppose Tansey misbehaved whilst playing for Hull, whereas Gleeson would be coming in with a point to prove?

Why, who had Warrington sacked for drunken misconduct a few weeks earlier?

| if gleeson was to be released then hull should deffo make a move for him on a contract that would obviously suit the club, hes showed that he still has plenty to offer on the field and our lack of creativity on the right side means i would seriously consider signing him

Wigan Warriors Press Release
Departure from Wigan of Martin Gleeson
Following a difficult recent period including injuries, a minor disciplinary offence and a serious distraction in his personal life in which he was the victim - all of which have made it impossible for him to focus properly on his career to the extent required by both Club and Player - Martin Gleeson has left Wigan with immediate effect.
He will take a break to refocus before deciding on his future career direction.
Martin stated:
"I am very proud to have represented my Hometown Club and am most grateful to the Club Management and, in particular, Ian Lenagan for the support given to me over this difficult period."
The Wigan Club and the Player will be making no further comment on this matter.

Maybe not the same thing but he still got sacked from a NRL club, where nobody else in Oz would touch him.

Yes and I'm all for players getting a second chance, but the point is that Wire hadn't set a precedent only a few weeks before so therefore they couldn't look hypocritical like we could if we signed Gleeson.

| There is nothing wrong with giving someone a chance if might benefit the team. If that chance is wasted (both metaphorically and/or literally) then the correct procedure should see them disciplined out. Nothing ventured nothing gained.
